Report: 369. That was the number of runs scored today between KKR and RCB, by far the highest amount in a match in the season so far. KKR began with a dazzling performance with the bat amassing 193/9 thanks to a steady platform from Ghambir and Pandey and then a blistering finish by Andre Russel.
If RCB were going to chase this down they would have to bat out of their skins, and that they just did. At one point they seemed on track to end KKR's undefeated run of 6 games. Yuvraj Singh and Albie Morkel built a great partnership in the middle to put themselves in the driving seat. But KKR held their nerve thanks to some good death bowling from purple cap holder Morne Morkel who finished with 3 wickets for 33 runs and not to forget S Yadav who took the pace of the deliveries brilliantly to make it difficult for RCB's middle and lower order to find the fence when they needed to. Things went to the final over with 28 required, but this was just a touch too many and they only managed 11 of those giving KKR a win by 17 runs.
Rameez: Well for me this was one of the most thrilling games of the season, yes it was spoiled by a number of very poor umpiring decisions (Glitch wickets) we have a count of 5, 2 for the KKR innings and 3 for the RCB innings but take nothing away from both sides here. KKR were in for a real scare and will want to get things right in the extras department they conceded 25 in comparison to only 7 from RCB.
RCB can take a lot from this game moving forward as they have thus far only lost 2 games, both to KKR so they will focus on the other teams ahead.
