Standby players: Cameron Francis (NT), Chris Quelch (WA)

Sub continent team generally do well in Under 19s because it is more raw talent than mental toughness and physical fitness at this age that counts.

I will back any team because you just want to encourage youngsters rather than starting playing favs.

Good luck to all.

Kumar Sarna is a very promising young Victorian opener, should be one to watch. I have also heard that James Pattinson is very promising, and as a 17 year old rookie for Victoria, he must be alright.

James Faulkner IIRC is a talented all rounder, definitely one to look out for.
Googled Josh Hazlewood and one was saying he was similar to Harmy.

Stuart Meaker for England is one my school will be following, He has just left my school and can bowl at over 90mph and is a capable batsmen,

England Squad
Squad Alex Wakely (capt), Ben Brown (wk), Liam Dawson, Steven Finn, Billy Godleman, James Harris, James Lee, Stuart Meaker, Sam Northeast, Daniel Redfern, James Taylor, Tom Westley, Chris Woakes, Greg Wood (wk).

Looks like quite am impressive team

Sam Northeast, Alex Wakely and Godleman are the standouts with the bat. James Harris, Steven Finn and Liam Dawson standouts with the ball. Having watched the U19 tests this summer Ben Brown looks a hell of a gloveman as well.

Steve Finn looks good, 6ft 8 at 18 and he averages 22 with the ball! The bowlers seem to have done well at county level anyway.

Wakely, Finn, Godleman, Harris, Northeast and Redfern are all players I will be watching at the World Cup.

I think Pakistan or Australia will win it. I love the U19 World Cup, I first watched it in 2004 and I've made sure I keep up with it ever since.

I saw him bowl a bit on TV, he has good pace and accuracy and looks like he has an action which you can repeat time after time. His action is not perfect, but he is very promising.

How fast was he? Nothing expresss I presume? Looking at our batsmen Godlemans definitely the standout with the bat.

Virat Kohli, the probable captain for India, boy, this guy is something special. Going to be huge if he keeps improving.
