2011 World Cup Pre-Event Discussion

Heard that Saurav Ganguly is part of the studio team that will be analyzing the World Cup games. Pretty interesting it will be. Hope we North American viewers can catch Dada in action atleast here

ESS is also offering free streaming to its India viewers on its website. Not sure though who has the license to telecast the WC 2011 matches in the USA. I am just hoping that they don't have too much of Sanjay Manjrekar who is actually quite hypo-critical.

Pakistan will be represented by Akram and Rameez, probably their best speakers. Also, ESS seems to have got hold of this babe who would be a part of their glamour quotient for the WC - Mayanti Langer

Way better than Mandira Bedi !!!

Here (in North America), Dish Network and DirecTV both have got the rights to telecast the World Cup, in HD. Also Willow.tv in conjunction with these two satellite providers are telecasting the World Cup for the same price on the web.

In which case, you may just get the match right ? Or does Dish also get rights to the Pre-Match shows and all ? I assume, the pre-match shows on Dish will comprise of a panel that is selected by the Dish fellows.

I guess we wont have those pre-match and post-match shows that Indian viewers get. We will get it right from when the commentators say "Hi and welcome to so and so match" till the end where they say "See you next game". We normally dont get pre and post match talk shows. Not sure how it will be this World Cup.

Actually the Pre-match and post-match ain't really much to rave about. Unless it is a very good match or so. The perfect time to start watching these shows is after the group stages, thats when most of starts making sense.

Saurav,Tony Greig & Harsha in the studio with Sidhu.:D

Btw, any idea as to the composition of the commentary team ?

I am guessing Gavaskar, Bhogle, Chappell, Wilkins,Akram, Manjrekar and Shashtri will be definitely there. Additionally, it seem that ESShas signed on Tony Greig too.

My favorite commentator Michael Holding won't be there this time :(

:D really like this Mayanti Langer. She knows her game and plays it well too :p
:yes:yes:yes:thumbs:thumbs:thumbs

Also looking forward to Harsha's commentary :)

Navjot Sidhu is on the commentary team ? :cheers

Its gonna be great to hear more 'Sidhuisms' this World Cup. Its been a long time indeed.

Wow, that's awesome. I simply love his commentary, who doesn't!

Guys help me choose amongst the two options :

1. Bryan Adams concert

2. India- Australia practice match

Both are gonna be held in Bangalore on Sunday, and I am confused.

So cricketing fever begins tomorrow.. With warmups the most anticipated tournament begins and I am damn excited.

Hope they show India and other tough warm up clashes

They'll only show Warm ups including India . Wish they'd show other Warm up's too..:(
