2021 ICC Men's T20 World Cup - India (UAE/Oman)

Some of the fans in social media are crying I understand because they were all behind Afghanistan to win the game. However, we can ignore that and just look at the game on Merit and we find a very bizarre stuff out there yesterday. Nabi bowling just one over and conceded only 7 runs, he gave Pakistan run out of their money and he did not chose to bowl against India despite he was the captain himself. I know that Karim Janat went for plenty against Asif Ali in the last over, however that was one off thing, he is your regular bowler yesterday and despite that your other regular fast bowlers were going for plenty and leaking runs, you just gave him one over and he conceded only 7 runs.

Overall, the body language of Afghanistan was bizzare as well. There was no intent, the fielding was as worst as ever could be in a way that here and there it seemed that they threw the ball to the boundary on purpose, it was hilarious. They also chose to bowl first while their strength has always been batting first and piling up runs. When they batted, the intent wasn't there specially from Nabi's end. He played run a ball and then got out. It was really a poor show by Afghanistan. There is nothing to taken away from the Indian team, they batted well but Afghanistan bowlers bowled them in the areas they were hitting, Never seen such loose bowling for many years.

Nah, NZ beat Afghanistan and it’s over.

Scotland almost defeated NZ yesterday, they won barely with 16 runs. So we can not be sure who wins tomorrow. Afghanistan played with a lot passion and an intent to win against Pakistan while yesterday they were just all over the place and playing it like a casual exhibition match. Let's see their intent tomorrow against NZ.

Ha Ha Ha! :) This is funny man. Instead of doing a cricketing discussion on the raised points here we are talking about the burnol stuff and becoming like social media trolling dudes. Anyhow, I would say whoever plays good deserves on the day to Win the game +1

Meanwhile hope they include Mujeeb to destroy New Zealand ... :D

Anyways pressure is on Afghanistan & NZ . It would remain ok even if India doesn't qualify since they already lost against the big teams which closed out their qualification ...

Moeen Ali didn't bowl against Australia, despite being the best bowler we had in the first two matches? Does that mean England were not showing intent?

Moeen Ali has been the best bowler but I don't think so he has been the Main and strike bowler for England for long. While Nabi was the Main Strike bowler, besides England is the Top Team, they always have multiple options and they destroyed Australia brutally without using Moeen Ali. Nutshell, England did not need Moeen Ali at this stage but Team Afghan needed Nabi's Heroics badly but he did not bowl.

Here, Afghanistan has been getting thrashed all over the Park and Nabi does not let himself come in. Can you explain this on cricketing grounds only?

As far as Intent goes, I meant by body language and the way they blocked the balls while batting and performed worst with bowling as well as fielding. That is my observation and of many other fans. It can differ. If we talk about Pakistan Match against Namibia, I believed Pakistan's bowling took them lightly in the first 10 to 12 overs with poor line and length. While wonder why Afghanistan was taking India lightly lol.

Generally, I think that ground has favoured pace bowling. Perhaps, for the same reason England didn't bowl Moeen was because the opposition would favour off spin.

Rohit's average v off spin is 35
KL Rahul is 46 at 144SR (has a strike rate of 262 v Nabi)
Rishabh Pant is 48 at 136 ( 212+ v Nabi)
Hardik has never been out against off spin and strikes at 148

Fair logic, but when your bowlers are getting thrashed all over the park, you have to take the chance to bowl and most importantly in Nabi's case, He was the captain and he had to take charge there and lead from Front considering the fact he only conceded 7 runs in his only over. I would say that's the bad captaincy and poor judgement then.

Not sure if you have heard of it, but there is this thing called having an off day in cricket and in life. It can happen to the best of the teams at the worst of times due to any sort of reason from pressure to inexperience to complacency to inexplicable causes.

Questioning the intent to win for a passionate team like Afghanistan who have evrything at stake is really weak and no better than the #fixed trends on social media that are going on from fans from mostly our neighbouring country.

And I don't know why Indian fans are being all giddy and offering burnol and stuff to Pakistani fans in retaliation. I mean they are topping the group and are into the semis. We are almost on the verge of a first round exit here. You have got to be kidding me

Bangladesh have been mighty disappointing this WC. Not having Tamim to begin with, dropping Fizz in crucial games and losing Shakib mid-tournament didn't help. But if I knew this is how their campaign was going to turn out, I would've much rather had Oman come through from the qualifiers - just for entertainment purposes.
