So have two or three groups, play 2 match series. The winners of each group (if it were 3 groups) could meet for for a 'festival of test cricket' and play each other a couple of times over say five or six weeks. The winner could be declared to be the team with the most spirit of cricket.

Is it? Sorry but I beg to disagree. India and Pakistan stopped playing each other way back before the idea of WTC had even popped up. If that makes up to the flawed structure then ICC needs a serious overhaul in their policy making.

Let's face it. Had india vs pakistan bilateral been possible. We would have seen almost 90 to 95 percent faceoffs in WTC

Well even Australia had their own share of problems playing in Sri Lanka & Pakistan in the past. They literally given up on their World Cup matches. So there has to be solution for this as well. Shouldn't there be one?

The most simple alternative I could suggest is just seperate teams into 2 groups and keep India and Pakistan in different groups.

But atleast the series won't be unequal or unevenly distributed. Have a 4-year cycle is the best thing we can expect.

Now you're talking. However icc has to make peace with all boards and they do have a say in this as well.

So this seems not plausible.

Only England-India series and Australia-England series are 5 match series. Rest all are mostly 2-4 match series.

Ind vs Eng also 5 test Series but yes Very Odd way ICC calculated points ind vs eng or ashes each win =24 points while 2 test series each win = 60 points

Icc still not Qualify Afg/Ire & zimbabwe ( Suspended for a while for 365 days) for Test Championship yet so there is no point to Discuss.

All those 3 country should play 4 day matches in side their country or sends their A team to other country so they gets use to for 4 or 5 day cricket.

India Gifted them A Ground in Noida, New Delhi but they never use it for 4 day Intra xl matches there.
Zimbabwe & Ireland Domestic cricket too way poor to scheduling matches.

If i have to run ICC i can Dis-qualify Bangladesh for all int'L who beats everyone in their own backyard but not play more than 2 series ( 1 before ICC gave them warning) in entire year
