Just saw the Lankan squad has Dimuth Karunaratne in it. Funny that they didnt play him, especially given that they need some experience out there in the center.

He was the third highest run scorer in the qualifiers but looked utterly dreadful in the Asia Cup. I wouldn’t have picked him in the squad since I don’t feel like he offers enough flexibility to be a bench option and isn’t particularly good enough to merit an automatic selection but it’s possible he would have made the team in the next game if Perera failed again.

On a serious note who or what is this 'Speed'?

When the papers were reporting,I actually assumed him to be Malcolm Speed of the ICC. Was genuinely surprised that he would accept the BCCI invite given his fractious relationship with them. (When they were being run by Dalmiya & Bindra)
