That Naseem Shah would have struggled as well although I personally feel he is better than the other crops, but he goes for runs as well.

Watchig Rauf, Wood getting spanked throughout the tournament I am glad India opted not to conisder Umran Malik in ODI setups as he was a contender before.

More than extra pace you need bowlers who can hit the hard good length in the Indian pitches especially in the middle overs.

I disagree too.

First time in India ain't easy , very young injury prone bowler as well.

His form would have definitely taken a hit considering the different varying conditions across the venues.

And yeah each one to their own. (this is my opinion on the lad - good bowler but again massively overhyped just liked his other mates).

To be honest, Pakistan never recovered from the India loss. Everyone was stuck in that loss so much. Also Babar is a horrible captain so that does not go their way.

What a pathetic ODI outfit we have been in this cup.

Didn't watch us bowl because I was busy, and was so impressed when I saw Shadab had gone for less than 6 an over. Turns out Rashid Khan was bowling like prime Shane Warne.

The annoying thing is, nothing will change and we will go back to this same outfit again next WC.

My takeaways from this WC (from a Pakistani perspective):
1. Babar Azam has been worked out - falling to midwicket again today! No 100's this whole WC and a best of 74! He is a horrendous captain
2. We don't have any spin bowlers that are world-class - we have done Irfan Pathan. By making Shadab into a genuine allrounder - we have lost his bowling completely
3. The least adaptable team ever. Clearly, Haris Rauf isn't a first 10-over bowler - he's a death bowler. Why continuously make him bowl in the first 10? When he doesn't have that role.
4. Our approach to the game is still the same as it was in the 2000's and probably the 90s. Whereas, Rohit Sharma/QdK/Mitchell Marsh/Warner/Gill/Conway/Ravindra Rachin has gone and put the foot down from ball 1. We have Imam looking to build innings and get out for a run-a-ball 50 (at best). We couldn't even put a good enough performance against Afghanistan.
5. Shaheen Shah lost his sting (fair enough the pitches are conclusive) - but we have no other approach for the remaining 8 games. Surely you can adapt.
6. Hasan Ali was your best replacement - a guy who went for above 6.5 and over at an average above 30! We really don't plan for all eventualities

I think you're giving India too much credit. We were outplayed by Afghanistan! Got lucky to make a game of the South Africa one. And let's not forget that Sri Lanka (the side that lost to Bangladesh & Afghanistan, got rolled out for 55 against India - we let them get to 330+ to give us the highest chase victory)

I honestly don't think we had the talent to break into the semis this time around - our batsmen were playing second-grade outdated cricket and our bowlers had the potency of a wet napkin.

The same thing happened last World Cup! We got bounced out by WI in game 1, and never really came back from it.

Pakistan have got beaten by India every World Cup encounter they faced, even the 1992 team, so I don’t think that was their problem. Getting beaten by Afghanistan seemed to have made them lose confidence a lot more.

Feels like you’re generalising. He was always above Shaheen and Rauf, he would have been better than them
