I think their bowling was too inconsistent and the batters didn’t get nearly enough. Aussies just made heavy weather of it in the end.

Jansen was horrible at the start and Bavuma could have gone with Markram earlier against the two left handers. Otherwise I think they bowled really well to make a match of it.

Well, Shamsi and Maharaj didn’t put enough pressure after getting those wickets despite getting help from the wicket. Poor field placements, not attacking enough didn’t help either.

if it was not semi final pressure Australia would have breezed through.

A bit disappointing in the end for the Proteas but they’ve arguably performed over the expectations set by everyone two months prior to this tournament.

Not sure if Bavuma carries on from here as the captain but I can see a world where he stays till 2025 and then hands it over to Markram permanently. Miller and Quinny redeemed themselves in this tournament.

Unless India self implodes in the final I don’t see how this Aussie side pushes us.
