Arguably the greatest ODI batter of all-time in Tendulkar consistently failed to show up in WC knockouts. Kohli until this edition didn’t have a great tournament either. Does that diminish their overall record?

It’s fine to criticise him in ODIs without taking it out on his T20I record especially when emotions run high.
