The World Cup is next year and not 4 years later. He is experienced and most importantly he is scoring runs for fun.. Age is irrelevant if you can put in the performances. If Kamran can win Pak the cup at 38 then it's better than having a 21 year old who would see them not qualify. I would understand your point if the WC was 4 years later, but it's insane to not capitalise on what is frankly just manic form and while this is my first PSL I believe he's been doing this for all 3 seasons?

If he had Umar for breakfast he would have made a duck and then blamed the traffic for it!

Have you seen his fitness? Can he pass the fitness tests? Does he possess the technique to tackle proper international bowlers?

Yes. He was the leading run scorer in the last seadon and in this as well.

Interested to see how Mukhtar does. Remember, he smashed Zimbabwe all over the stadium in 2015

TBH it is a tough call. Whether or not you want to give Kamran another chance and not only that but to carry him to the WC as well.

I believe full chance was given to him last year. But he wasn't affective in International cricket.

Might be. But it's going to be tough decision. Since WC is almost a year ahead and we only know Fakhar is one opener. Can Kamran Akmal tackle with high class bowling in English conditions? Will he bit fit enough? Can he field well? (As Sarfraz is WK). Is he your best option among all openers right now?

I'm not against nor a fan of Akmal.

I think in ODI cricket the conditions aren't too different in different countries. Most pitches are flat. Fielding would be his only problem, imo.

Full chance in India and Pakistan is different. Nothing less than 6 months to a year is a fair shot depending on the amount of cricket you have scheduled.

And for heaven's sake, he's better than Azhar Ali and that pension worthy Hafeez.

I am happy to bring Akmal back into the side as an opener alongside Fakhar Zaman, so long as he stays as far away from the wicketkeeping. I remember that his ground fielding is not to good either.

Great knock from him today. Let's see how Karachi approach this game.

I think Kamran Akmal has been good enough to kmock at the door for a selection.

BTW, wasn’t Imam Ul Haq a back up opener in the ODI team? He scored a century on debut, didn’t he? Where is he?

Ravi Bopara would've been the best option. Anyways they've gone with a bold decision.

Nope I have been.his huge.critic as.well and doesnt.like his coaching to.national side. It just means that since WC 2011 to 2015 to T20 WC 2016. He has been criticsed heavily by some of the local coaches in this PSL, talking about Razzaq, Wasim and Moin Khan to be prominent. However he looked calm in the dug out and performed well this time in this tournament

Considering Kamran Akmal for WC 2019 as opener alongside Fakhar will be hitting your own feet with axe. Probably would be the most foolish decision. Kamran supreme form should be utilized for the T20 format currently. With Fakhar you need some other genuine technical opener. I would be happy to see Imam for it and if Shehzad goes back to domestic circuit and regains his confidence and form back he is still miles technical ahead than Kamran. We can find another solid opener as well there is still time. Kami's fielding issue will be most prominent in 50 overs game as well. You cant take such risk of inducting Kamran as opener with Fakhar for coming WC probably when you are seeing you have a chance to win the WC again this time under the leadership of Sarfraz
