7th Match: New Zealand v Sri Lanka

Good batting Vettori, Guptill, Franklin and Mills at the end there. Really saved us. Still think we're a bit short on runs for this pitch. The outfield is lightning.

We need early wickets badly. If Sri Lanka end up 100-0 or similar then guys like Jayawardene and Sangakkara won't collapse like our middle order did and they'll get home.

I'm not going to bed very confident. Despite it being our best score v SL ever.

Oh and props to Jeese for gutsing the innings out in obvious extreme pain, showed real guts and played well (injury probably woke him up). It was outstanding. It was funny hearing the Sri Lankan commentate when he was smashing it. He was having a cry about just about everyting. Injured players shouln't get runners. waaah waaah. Ryder is only playing good because he got injured waah waah.

Oh and Franklin > Bradman > Oram

Yeah I didn't understand what the commentator was going on about when saying Ryder's injury was bad for Sri Lanka. Yea he might of been playing his shot's but it limited him to three or four scoring area's.

Sri Lanka were not taking their chances early on, but if the end result counts as a recovery, then it's thanks to the flexibility of their lineup; the sixth bowler was a "part timer" with 300 wickets. It's a steep chase, but conditions should be ideal for it. It is very plausible.

Bad news for Jesse Ryder: He is out of the tournament. He has pulled his left abductor muscle. If NZ progress to the semis then they will call up a replacement,otherwise obviously they will not.
