Introduction:

With the addition of the Australian Domestic Structure to the latest version of the International Cricket Captain series of games (ICC2010),
I felt that it would be the opportune moment to start a story using one of the new Australian Domestic Teams.
I went for Tasmania because they have a decent squad: not too strong, not too weak, and not chock full of international players (NSW I?m looking at you).
Also it?s an island off the coast of the main part of Australia, kind of like New Zealand :)
I don?t know a lot about domestic cricket in Australia, but hopefully I?ll learn a lot along the way.

This is my first real story, so please comment; constructive criticism is always welcome.
I?m also concerned about my use of grammar, punctuation, etc. so point out any mistakes you might find too.
My view is that a story?s not really a story if it?s not readable due to bad grammar ? would an author send a draft to get published?
So have fun reading this over the next however long I continue it for; I hope you enjoy it.

Thanks :) I've been thinking about writing it for a while, it's helped me get through the exam period (which isn't yet over... eep)

First ICC2010 story (on PC), and your first story, so good luck.
For an introduction that's fine.
Since your squad is not too strong, and not too weak, I'm picking you'll get one top two, one middle two, and one bottom two for the three competitions.

How much detail are you going to do the matches in?

I'm thinking daily reports for FC, innings reports for OD and match reports for T20 at the moment.

Tasmania are really fun to play with cause they normally don't have many players out on International duty (like only Ponting and Hilfenhaus and sometimes Paine). Doherty is a good opening bowler for OD games as well. He opened for me in ICC10 and he took 2/13 off 6 over's before being taken off and got hit around later in the game and finished with like 2/40 off his ten over's.

Thanks for the advice Hedger :) I'll think about opening with Doherty, but I think I'll probably stay with the traditional approach, at least for the first few games.

Looking forward to this really. Easy start and hope this climbs up and so on. Good Luck!

Ah, will certainly be looking at this story after you choosing to use the best team ;)

Good start Chewie. ICC'10 would be good for this story. Have a look at the Hall Of Fame thread which is stickied. It will give you some very good ideas to make this story better. It contains some very good stories look at them and you will get some very good ideas. If we talk about stories currently going then have a look at Surendar's, Just Cricket's and User2010's stories. They have great combinations of presentation and writing. Best of luck mate for this story. :)

How can they be the best team, when they're not from New Zealand... :sarcasm

I agree with Callum haha. Northern Districts are obviously the best team :p

Thanks Aditya for the advice! Next update will be posted sometime tomorrow. I'll try get an update done once per day :)
