You can use a Straight-through patch cable as most of the NICs these days are auto-sensing and switch their Tx and Rx lines accordingly.

Erm...it has been while since I played Cricket 2002, but I never remembered it having online gameplay feature.

I believe SWAT 4 and Half-Life 2 can be played online, not sure about their previous versions though.

Online is not the same as LAN, LAN is much easier to implement as bandwidth is not an issue (well it could be, but in practice it isn't).
