Does the field editor effect changes made halfway through a match, or do any changes made only show when you start a new match?

Are you talking about loading a saved game? Because you can't import edited fields halfway through the match if the game is running.
I'm not exactly sure on this one. Changes should be effected immediately, but if a save game file saves all the field settings for the current match as well, then they won't be effected halfway through a match.

Yes, I made changes with the editor and reloaded the game but the changes weren't evident ingame. Will have to start a fresh game it seems.
