...Burnout Paradise is going to come to PC and Codemasters have now got the F1 licence from Sony, so the long wait for a new F1 game could soon be over...

Burnout Paradise? Awesome. :D

Well Codies did put together a good game package in Grid, and although its far from perfect, its still pretty good. And a F1 game will always be appreciated. :D

Great, stupid AI + drifting in an F1 game, that's Codies speciality in racing games...

The funniest thing I've read all week, particularly the last bit:

http://www.virtualr.net/future-f1-games-codemasters-interview/ said:
A few weeks have passed since Codemasters has posted the winning bid for the official Formula One gaming rights for the next five years. First info starts to come in as the official Formula one website released an interview with Codemasters CEO Rod Cousens.

The interview includes some interesting info, some bits a rather worrying though. Asked about the time pressure to release the first game within a year, Cousens replys that basics from GRID will be used including car dynamics and handling.

Furthermore, he states that Codemasters wants to make the games ?incredibly exciting, a real adrenaline rush?. I have to admit that quite some time has passed since I last watched a full GP. But, incredibly exciting does not sound like real F1 to me.

Cousens closes with the statement that Codemasters?s past games ?have been very heavily weighted towards simulation?. It?s for you to decide whether you agree or not?..

There's a full interview with Mr Cousens HERE

Being simulation or not, I don't really care (not that much), until I get fun in a game.

Every game has its purpose. The whole reason burnout was made was crashing and not racing first of all.

Grid's a good game, although as previously said not simulation as claimed, but its still fun. Atleast its better than NFS's. ;)

EDIT - Just read it. F1 game + Grid type handling??? They're making a game to be sold or a game to be dumped?

Surely they wouldn't be stupid enough to make an F1 game with cars that drift???

Who would've thought they could've made such a mess of BLIC 2007 after the potential shown in BLIC 2005? Need I say more!

The last Codemasters game I played to death was probably the original Toca Race Driver, and that's old.

And Burnout Paradise is just a boring game which looks good, it's only fun for a few minutes because the crashes look good.
Sssh:p. I like Burnout Paradise, only played the demo mind, I think they made a mistake in making the demo so extensive, able to play online, which is great with mates.

Haha! I owned that game, that was piss-poor. Even worse than F1'98 on the PS1.

Original LMA Manager on the PS1. That was a beast of a Codies game.

I remember back in the day at Primary school, we all used to stand round the kitchen waiting for our orange juice thrashing out tactics! I mean, even to this day when i visit my grans i sometimes get the disc out and have a go, as it was amazingly fun!

They've lost out thier to a much more in depth, easy pick-up-and play CM and FM game. Codies was always the "easier," game company where you got a feel for a type of game but didn't quite get into the nitty gritty. I don't think they've made a transition from that to real hard core gaming. If anything its gone the other way to outstandingly rubbish arcade type crap.

Is it better than nfs pro street.by seeing the screen shot of burnout paradise ps3 its lokking like anice game.

CyberTerminator added 10 Minutes and 3 Seconds later...

here is link to watch video of burn out paradise.i think its ps3 verson.when you go visit this link you will find out some more videos of burnout paradise. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3rcrPqvnIoI&eurl=http://criteriongames.com/

Sounds like a bit of a false dawn then. I was pleased that Sony had lost the licence, since they were hoarding it for their console toys, but if the F1 Codies game will be as bad as you say...
