Afrikan Premier League IV1/2

Gerald-Majola_2057926.jpg

CSA President Gerald Majola unveiling Afrikan Premier League

After the recent success of the FIFA World Cup the Government of South Africa has given a grant to Cricket South Africa to start its own "premier league" to boost sales and fill seats in the big stadiums which wouldn't serve purpose after the World Cup Said Gerald Majola (Cricket SA President). This is a exciting venture and I am sure the fans and players would love to play and watch cricket in these new stadiums.

He went on to say...

One team each from Kenya and Zimbabwe were invited into the domestic league to truly make it the Afrikan Premier League.

This will be a 50 over competition (CrickSim)

Squad Structure

Squad will consist of 18 players with 8 of them being from overseas, and teams are allowed 5 overseas players in any given lineup.

Ok, my team's name is Polokwane Phantoms..
CB12:Suggestions:-
Johannesburg Jokers:p [Joking]
Jo'Burg Giants
Jo'burg Royale,etc

Drafts are easier, but set a 24 hour period for each round. If someone comes online but doesn't pick and they are holding up the draft then you can cut the round off early. I would suggest (assuming your squads are 11 locals/7 internationals):

Round 1 - 1 local (home country), 1 international
Round 2 - 1 local (home country), 1 international
Round 3 - 1 local (home country), 1 international
Round 4 - 1 local (any country), 1 international
Round 5 - 1 local (any country), 1 international
Round 6 - 1 local (any country), 1 international
Round 7 - 1 local (any country), 1 international
Round 8 - 2 locals (any country)
Round 9 - 2 locals (any country)

Or merge round 6 and 7. Up to you. You might even sort the local picks into a different country each round. So the teams have 6 or 7 locals from their country, and 4 or 5 from the other African countries.

That would be a huge disadvantage for Nairobi so I wont be doing that.

I had something like this planned, but i'll follow your draft system. The domestic and international lists will be up in about 8 hours but the draft will start tomorrow. :)

What are the playing XI's like, will it be four or five INT players?
If it's five you should have eight INT players.

I know drafts are easier, they just have a much lower skill set needed to amass a better squad, which is why I prefer an auction as there's a greater change of the better managers doing well.

I'd say it would be better with five INT players, as people don't know too much about SA domestic players, much the same as the NZPL, but it's up to you.

I agree with Callum and one more thing Riz give the Player list of Africans Players as we don't know much about them.:)

yes i've done that check index, and okay we'll go with five internationals but there isn't a need to change the squad structure is there?

lol I know hardly any of the SA players :p

If you have 5 internationals in a playing XI, you need more to choose from in your squad

Squad will consist of 18 players with 10 locals and 8 overseas, and you're allowed to play up to 5 overseas players in a game.

i'll be releasing the draft order soon, which you guys can "pass around" with your picks.

Well if you only had seven INT, and played five of them, you'd have two INT subs, while five DOM subs.
Surely it would be better to have a 10 + 8 squad, so you have 4 DOM subs, and 3 INT subs.

There shouldn't be a draft 'order', it should just be a list with everyone's names... When you post that can we start picking?

^ lol, kinda redundant. i've already changed it ;)

thats what i meant and no. it'll start at 6.00pm NZT
