What an amazing innings. And from someone chosen as a bowler.

Agar

No grizzled veteran could have played in such a manner. No other player in a side beset by the multitude of distractions that has plagued Australia in recent times would have had the clarity of mind to play with such freedom and such fearlessness. It required a fresh-faced 19-year-old, untouched by recent happenings and with nothing to lose. If he felt a ball was there to be hit, he hit it, unconcerned that his side was one careless stroke away from giving up a potentially crippling lead.

I like Agar's attitude, he is fresh faced, bowls ok, bats like a man possessed. Just can't help liking the kid. He has a lot of work to do on his bowling but a very good first test for him.

i totally amazed with his innings totally, what a knock! on debut when your team is in deep trouble credit also goes to Hughes that he also guide Agar :), they played amazingly :) , they deserves respect we are giving them :)

He looks more technically able than a number 11, even if he probably should have been given out on six.

He had a swing, fair play to him, England don't know how to bowl out the tail when they put up any resistance, he took advantage.

I'd suggest he is more a 7 or 8, showed more than I've seen from the bowlers above him anyway. I don't know how often the number 11 is top scorer, that list of top scores and totals would be interesting.

I predict that'll end up his highest ever test score, and his bowling average will soar above 40 once he tours the sub-continent.

Anyone else get the feeling that he is going to become a prolific middle order batsman rather than spinner?

A reverse Brad Hogg? Might happen, he's got a great eye. And Australia need the batsmen to be honest...:(

Hopefully he becomes a good spinner though, we need one of those too!

Maybe an Aussie Kevin Pietersen... ;)

but his technique is pretty mediocre. Not impressed with his footwork TBH.
