A simple debate which is bound to snowball into a pretty long thread here.

For decades, Cricinfo ruled the roost. However, they have been nicely challenged by Cricbuzz over the years. The reasons for such a paradigm shift range from the 'News Credibility, Grammar, Frequency to even the Website/App downtimes'.

I had personally been a Cricinfo user for long. Of late, been seeing that their articles and management are grossly biased towards certain teams and players. Even the quality of writing seems pathetic and seems as though no one edits the content. By contrast, Cricbuzz has shaped up pretty well so far.

What do you guys think?

Never preferred to try anything apart from Cricinfo. With whatever minor mistakes that come in at times, it's still a reliable source for me as compared to CricBuzz.

I do not like the new UI they introduced some time ago, but I still refer to cricinfo for all news related to Cricket. Cricbuzz, I don't think is at the same level as that of cricinfo yet.

But it wouldn't hurt to have multiple sources, so it wouldn't be such a bad thing if Cricbuzz can up their game as well.

Cricinfo has the better UI, especially when it comes to mobile. The quality of their reporting is dropping rapidly and very clear bias shows. Its still the go to place for me though.

The Cricketer have launched an app but the UI is pretty terrible and they've decided to paywall content form day one. Not sure there's a big enough market for a paid app even if the do offer better coverage of the England team and English domestic cricket. Also a mistake not to bundle the digital subscription in with the magazine subscription IMO.

Cricinfo is quite detailed and has much depth. It is something more than just a live cricket commentary tracker.

Cricbuzz's mainly dependent on its live score commentary. It skips major cricket archives. That is the reason it is blazing fast over Cricinfo. And correctly said that it is mostly baised over Indian viewers.

So the best middle ground for Indian community is to opt for Cricbuzz for quick match scores and Cricinfo for everything else.

For any other international country, hands down cricinfo is the way.

Cricinfo is the best when it comes to following Live scores and Cricbuzz has not managed to beat them at that! Their live commentary is also very good, detailed and gives you the feel of watching the game live. And Cricinfo's UI is a lot lot cleaner than Cricbuzz. Man, Cricbuzz feels a lot 'all over the place'.

What I really like about Cricbuzz is their analysis of the game. I enjoy the likes of Harsha Bhogle, Joy Bhattacharya, Shaun Pollock, Zaheer Khan, Mbangwa, Ajay Jadeja, etc. when they analyze and talk during and post-games about their thoughts/opinions. The hosts of these shows are hit and miss (I have a love and hate thing for Gaurav Kapur. his energy is infectious but many a time he'll just talk over the analysts and make it jarring; Gautam Bhimani is a little balanced though uneventful). Cricinfo is terrible at this! I just dont enjoy their analysis at all. Maybe its the folks that they choose (Gambhir, Manjrekar, Dasgupta, etc.) but I enjoy Cricbuzz' panel a lot lot more

Cricbuzz's panel, tone of writing has improved over the years. Second @SaiSrini there with his pointer on the panels used by both. It will take some time for them to improve when it comes to catering to a global audience.
