Alastair Cook batting stat 17?!

Can anyone tell me why this is? When bowling to him v Essex I saw his eating is 17 when pressing analogue stick down.
I have updated/downloaded all the county championship sides using the correct method and only used the highest rated authors.
Also, I went to the Academy player editor and saw that his skills are right up near max or 1 bar below so how can his rating be 17?!

When players get to a certain age, their stats drop off the cliff.

I'm in my 2nd season... There was another England batsman playing for his county with the same issue but I forgot who it was.
