Team needs an opener, so let me go for this guy, who produced two average cricketers for the country too, after his own contributions, but only one of those two sons inherited his facial features completely. Anyway -



Well no that’s not Shaun in old clothes. Geoff Marsh averaging 39 in ODIs with over 4000 runs and 9 tons seems to be the best opener bat left. And yes, his younger son completely failed to inherit his face, while Shaun was a carbon copy

Allan Border is my pick.

A beast of a batter in Test format but also decent in ODIs too. He arrived in a difficult era and took the reigns of his team. Being a left hander he provides much needed change in my batting line up. A handy finger spinner as well.

Since he was the first captain to lead Australia to a World Cup title. He will have the honors to lead my team as well.

A top quality gloveman (this might be the latest I've ever left it to pick a wicket-keeper) and a punchy left-hander who scored at a strike rate of 82 in the 1970s. It was proper hitting as well: he even famously hit the last over of an ODI for 26 runs against New Zealand, and he'll be well at home in my team.

Some of you might have watched or heard of his heroics on English tour of 81' and 89'. An exceptional right arm swing bowler with impeccable control. His 88 ODI wickets came at an average of 23.36 and an economy of 3.65. Making him a lethal bowler in combination with the pacy Jeff Thomson.

But it is perhaps a Boon that he isn’t



David Boon is the highest run getter for Australia in ODIs who isn’t in the Top 10. An average of 37 and bats top order. And glorious stache on top of all. Handy selection at this stage of draft. For that stache alone.
