IN PROGRESS All-Time Australia ODI XI

World Cup winner Doherty yet to be picked!

Batters win you games, Bowlers win you tournaments.

So in only the 4th round, the team welcomes the second man into the bowling attack.

Josh Hazlewood is amongst the best Australian seam bowlers of this generation, touted as the next version of McGrath. He does not boast of sheer pace, but is still an extremely valuable bowler, with 138 ODI wickets in 90 innings. And the thing is, he's still got plenty left to play.

And now...

... it won't be happening. :aus: :bwl: Brad Hogg - a properly elite bowler stifled by the presence of Mr Warne, and handy with the bat too. Fan favourite, also.

So this was a genuinely tricky pick to make, but I'm going to pick Greg Chappell and bolster my middle-order even further. The thing that made my mind up on this was the fact that in addition to averaging 40 with the bat at a strike rate of 75 (a VARP of +67.15%), he also averages 29.12 with the ball, with two five-wicket hauls (and a negative VARP, but still entirely acceptable for a sixth bowler). So he makes my team and Darren Lehmann shuffles down to five.

Michael Clarke, Pup was one of the best batsman in the world in his playing days, 7981 ODI runs at 44.58. Winner of 2 world cups with 2015 WC being the skipper. Like Travis Head, excellent fielder and handy with ball with 57 ODI wickets. He also had ability to clear any ground with bat, his final innings was played in 2015 WC final, 74 runs with strike rate of 102.77.

Adam Zampa is my next pick.

A bowler who has come of age. He has become an instrumental player to Australia's success. Is now the leading white ball spinner for them in the format. Covering the gap that was left by Warne. Courtesy of his near complete arsenal with the traditional leg break, googly and flipper. He is a reliable middle order spinner for Australia.
