All-time Test XI

These things are always more interesting if you limit yourself to one player per country IMO. I'm phone posting at the moment, I'll try to add mine when I get home
Or some other criteria, like this alphabet eleven (which is really bloody hard):

:aus: :bat: Justin Langer
:saf: :bat: Yacoob Omar
:aus: :bat: Donald Bradman :c:
:wi: :bat: Vivian Richards
:aus: :bat: Neil Harvey
:aus: :ar: Charlie Macartney
:eng: :ar: George Ulyett
:eng: :wk: Alan Knott
:aus: :bwl: Shane Warne
:eng: :bwl: Fred Trueman
:ind: :bwl: Erapilli Prasanna

If it comes to my personal all time XI, I'll take them from the mid 20s(2005).

:aus: Matthew Hayden
:ind: Virender Sehwag
:wi: Brian Charles Lara
:ind: Sachin Tendulkar
:saf: Jacques Kallis
:aus: Ricky Ponting
:aus: Adam Gilchrist
:aus: Shane Warne
:ind: Zaheer Khan
:nz: Shane Bond
:aus: Glenn McGrath[DOUBLEPOST=1471786017][/DOUBLEPOST]Personally, I feel we should enter the XIs into DBC14 and have some last online games of it.

My all-time XIs..

Containing only players that I've watched live on TV

:eng: :bat: Marcus Trescothick
:aus: :bat: Matthew Hayden
:aus: :bat: Ricky Ponting
:wi: :bat: Brian Lara
:nzf: :bat: Stephen Fleming :c: (hate putting him as low as 5)
:saf: :ar: Jacques Kallis
:aus: :wk: Adam Gilchrist
:aus: :ar: Shane Warne
:saf: :bwl: Dale Steyn
:nzf: :bwl: Shane Bond
:aus: :bwl: Glenn McGrath

Containing players I've watched and also those I have only read about or seen old clips of

:wi: :bat: Gordon Greenidge
:aus: :bat: Matthew Hayden
:aus: :bat: Don Bradman :c:
:wi: :bat: Viv Richards
:saf: :ar: Jacques Kallis
:wi: :ar: Garry Sobers
:aus: :wk: Adam Gilchrist
:pak: :ar: Wasim Akram
:wi: :ar: Malcolm Marshall
:aus: :ar: Shane Warne
:aus: :bwl: Glenn McGrath

And a 2nd XI just for fun, containing some of those that missed the cut

:saf: :bat: Graeme Smith
:eng: :bat: Jack Hobbs
:wi: :bat: George Headley
:ind: :bat: Sachin Tendulkar
:sri: :wkb: Kumar Sangakkara
:pak: :ar: Imran Khan :c:
:aus: :ar: Keith Miller
:usa: :ar: Bart King*
:eng: :ar: Graeme Swann
:wi: :bwl: Curtly Ambrose
:saf: :bwl: Allan Donald

*I couldn't care less about the fact that King played zero Tests. He was a simply amazing player that any Test team would dream of having. Blame the then Imperial Cricket Conference for not giving America Test status when they deserved it most.

I'll throw a few teams out there. I didn't really notice that I had the 1-3 of the great West Indian 1980's team and Australia 2000's team, it wasn't planned that way. Wasim Akram plays in the opposition team pretty much because their tail is way too long while Shane Warne comes in at 11 averaging 17. I'm going to go and play this on DBC14 now.

Right now in the SA NZ test they're talking about the current Test XI and they chose Amla over Smith who averages 58...

A slightly different challenge - only one player allowed per Caribbean nation:

It's really tough to get a balanced side with this one.

I like the idea of one player per decade
