Amusing Commentary

Let's have a competition to find the most amusing commentary ever heard in an ICC game. I'll start!

"Excellent off-drive!", said the commentator admiringly.

What game was HE watching?? What I saw was a batsman backing away and, with a chest-high crossbatted waft at full stretch, managing to hit the ball (first miracle) and send it to the point boundary (the second).

Then there was the time when the batsman - I think it was Shah for Middlesex - went for a pull shot, but the ball was on him quite a bit quicker than he expected and his pull shot went for four to a straightish long-off.

Again, I think the commentator must have been watching some other highlights reel on his monitor. "Elegantly played!", he said.:laugh

In ICC06, I had just started one CC game, in the very first over, the batsman got a big mishit only for the long-off fielder to drop it and the commentator said " Oh....yet another catch goes abegging"

Mine just happened.

Day 5 in a test match vs India. Umar Gul bowled a massive full toss pretty outside off (would have been a wide in ODI's), the batsman tries to smash him back to Peshawar but misses so Akmal takes the ball behind the stumps (). The commentator goes: "What a wonderfull delivery!" Or something like that.

Mine's like jacobfelix. The bowler bowls his first over and gets hit for his first boundary. Agnew chimes in with "poor old bowler, he's gone for another boundary!"

I was playing a T20 game in my 2048 season and Middlesex opener Plummer played a hook shot. I was curious to know what the commentator said for a hook. Put on my headphone and went through the highlight and he said " off the eyebrows...Great Hook shot. Super timing"....

Off the eyebrows....
