Any Improvements?

It's very interesting that you're frustrated by them but bear in mind our server costs are nearly US$200 per month and we couldn't afford to run the site without them.

They aren't really annoying at all.. Wow, I was just selected to receive 250 free business cards!!

It was my fault. I had accidentally turned my ad-blocker off. And I understand that the ads are very important so, no need to disable them.

But as you have done so on your end clearly you don't. The problem is that the more people who use ad-blockers, the worse the ads need to be for others to make up the difference. No one likes ads, but if you like this site, just leave them on.

If you think downtime is bad now, you'd hate to see us back on shared hosting.

I love the ad's they crack me up. For instance, the current ad I can see is:

"Reporter discovers shoking (yes it is spelt wrong in the ad :laugh) truth. Will Chu Yung Tea make you lose fat?"

I mean seriously, I wouldn't get to learn about Chu Yung Tea anywhere else :p

Well mine says right now 'Sell your car for under $40'. Who the hell would do that!

The best way I feel to get rid of these ads is use an Ad-blocker. There are plugins for Firefox and Chrome but if you are using IE, you can try external ad-blockers. You can get it at Free software downloads and software reviews - CNET Download.com

I am using Kaspersky's inbuilt ad-blocker which blocks every ad and also allow us to add exceptions like for online flash games.

I think the majority of people here want the site to break even and keep going so please don't post links to ad blockers as the site needs them. Its even like this site has many adds, its rather good compared to some websites I've been on.

I was just giving a suggestion to Varun since he has problems with ads. It's his decision to use or not.

Regardless its better for the site if we don't actively tell people how to get around them.
