This guy William Ezard is one of the best generated youth player for me....scored a test match triple century in his debut and has scored close to 8 doble tons for me...he has settled in...and now after four years of his arrival another guy called Robin Fallis is looking as good as Ezard...

I got a William Ezard in my game too! Except he plays for another team, and is a SLC bowler and a LH bat (allrounder), and prety darn good in his very first year.
I've got some good youths. A couple of fast bowlers currently with Derbyshire. They are pretty good, not great yet, just in their early season.

I am in the year 2011 rumblah, currently playing the world cup..and i forgot to add another exciting player...Philip Horton...here is his pic...but thanks to ZoraxDoom who gave me tips when i started playing this game...

These two chaps are the two highest run scorers I've ever had in test and first class cricket (where they've scored all their runs for me as opposed to some randomly generated Aussie or Indian)

First chap was a bit older than the second chap, and retired before him, both of them suffered in their later years a bit by averaging around the 40's-50's and saw their career averages decline.

242 tests! 76 test hundreds! Not a high ratior of Tests to ODIs though.

I like the amount of OD innings he has played? 4 a game!

Haha only just noticed that Sureshot! That's the stupid limited counters in the ICC games which for some reason are incapable of going past certain numbers

I would suggest being an opening batsman for almost his entire career (I tried him down the order in his last year or two as he started to fade) that he has played around 640-650 OD games.

As you can see as well he was a fairly decent fielder, even took a stumping in a game where my keeper got retired hurt batting.

Wow, Ezard and Fallis are quite awesome. And i'd be extremely pleased to have someone like Horton around, i'm really struggling for quality domestic bowlers.

I love it when the faith you place in youth gets vindicated.

I myself have a 20 year old rookie called Raymond Pointer (a RH defensive middle-order bat), Yorkshire, who's beginning to start showing what i believe he's capable of. Will post my review of Yorkshire season 2007, which would have screenshots of his performance too. If you wanna take a look at his performance in the first season (2006) for me, check this:http://www.planetcricket.org/forums/showthread.php?t=29470
Might not appear out-of-the-world, but he's started to turn it around.

I'd be very happy if he is @ 25 is where Ezard is right now.

Do you remember what Horton's 2nd team bowling average was when you first picked him?

not that Im criticising or anything Mr Puddleduck, but do you actually do anything besides play ICC? you must have played at least 20 seasons to get those figures. so, out of curiosity just how much do you play? how long (in real life days) does it take you to go through a season? i thought I played the game a lot, but i could never dream of reaching that number of seasons! and usually when ive played a couple years on one version, another new player comes along for England in real life that I want in my team, so i keep buying the newer versions.
longest i ever went was on the 1998 version, where i went about 10 seasons, before deciding to get a newer one.

Ezard and Fallis are both looking pretty mighty players but im shocked at horton, i played him quite a lot on my game but he never became what i thought he would as he had a great 2nd team avarage of about 16.

It's from Icc 2005, and I normally play with only wickets as the highlights. I also don't find the need to start a new game, and quite enjoy being miles into the future unearthing new players. I do have the odd session where I play for an hour or 3 and get through a fair amount in one chunk, otherwise it's a steady procession of a couple of matches here and there. Which if you consider is over the space of 2 years, it's easy to see how I've got so far.

I've seen some people who are actually into 2100 and beyond!

And I've played more than 20 seasons by the way ;)

Do you find as well Allrounder18 that once you get past the initial starting period and start having a very good side fairly consistently it goes a lot quicker as you aren't really needing to put too much input into the side? A lot of games are won using default tactics, and only occasionally against good sides do you really have to start tinkering with the fields and bowling plans.
