The pitch and conditions are typican sub-continent environments. The pitch is dusty with no grass at all. it should be full of runs and with both teams having some good batsmen, bowlers are in for a long day. Its hot here and should test players ability to bear heat.

Here we go for the toss. Rahul Dravid has won the toss and without any doubt, he decided to bat first. India will be looking to post a target around 300 to put pakistan under pressure. but before that they need a good start. It will be interesting to see who partners Sehwag in the opening Dravid , Tendulkar or some new surprise.

Both teams have been announced. India has decided to open with Dravid and Sehwag while Sachin Tendulkar will provide experience to the middle order. India has continued with its strategy to play 5 bowlers as M kartik makes his return in place of Powar. Kaif is also midssed out despite of his good show in the West Indies one-day series.

Pakistan on the other hand has much to delight with return of Shoaib Akhtar to the team. Interestingly Azhar Mahmood has made his way to the team while Inzamam decided to keep Naved-ul-Rana out of team. This could prove to be a costly decision for Pakistan. Very strong and experienced middle order there which is capable of chasing any total on any ground.

This should be an interesting match.

So the players are heading to the ground. For India, Dravid and Sehwag will open while Shoaib Akhtar will bowl the first over and Sami will share the new ball with him.

Its all ready for the first ball as Akhtar comes in to bowl to Indian Captain Rahul Dravid.

Good fiery start from Shoaib Akhtar as he bowled the first maiden of the match. Akhtar kept a good line jus outside offstump and forced Dravid to defend all of them. After 1 over, india still needs to open its account.

For Pakistan lineup, I was surprised too with player selection in the bowling department. If anyone knows how change cpu lineup then i will be very thnakful of his suggestions. I know i can do that with mch editor but for that i have to save and then change the lineups after 1st over. I will do that from next match.

For India, I think I have put the best lineup i could think of.

Sami gave Pakistan perfect start as he bowled a short delivery to Sehwag. Sehwag went to pull it but only managed to top-edge it where Razzaq took an easy catch at mid-wicket. So India losing Sehwag only in the second over and is in bit of trouble here. Dhoni now walks in and it will be very interesting to see how he bats.

Dhoni arrived in the middle and started flurries of boundaries again both Akhtar and Sami. Dhoni's shots included good cover drives and lofted shots over the bowler's head to reach 23 off just 22 balls. India despite of losing early wicket has maintained a very good run rate and with dravid and Dhoni looking well set now, india is in a very strong position.

Despite Dhoni's outburst, inning's main highlight so far is the pull shot from Rahul Dravid off Shoaib Akhtar that cleared the ropes by long way. That was Dravid's only boundary. pakistani bowlers on the other hand have looked ordinary and didn't create much trouble to Indian batsmen. Inzamam will be soon looking for its other option in form of Razzaq, Mahmood or ven Kneria.

Dravid and Dhoni continued their onslought on Pakistani bowlers as india is racing with a run rate of more then 5 rpo. Inzamam played a gamble by bringing Kaneria in just 10th over. But, it backfired as Dhoni's cut off him cleared the ropes easilly. Kaneria's one over produced 8 runs. Both have added 66 runs among themselve so far with Dhoni in particular is looking in smashing form. Razzaq has been given the bowl and it will be interesting to see how he bowls.

Dhoni reached his fifty after a single of razzaq in just 54 balls which included 7 boundaries and 1 six. Indian run rate is now almost 6 run per over and it will be very crucial for India to keep the scoreboard moving in middle overs while not losing many wickets. Pakistan desperately needs a breakthrough here to stay alive in this match.
