A Grand Final Before The Finals
The Big Picture
An early final is what the match is being called by the critics, former cricketers and cricket lovers in one voice as both Kenya and Ireland decide to go for an extended net session here at The Oval in England before the teams return from practice one last time prior to the big match. A loss would end the tournament for either side. Both teams enter the match with a solid if not spectacular form-line behind them. Ireland accounted for a plucky Netherlands after annihilating a lackluster Scotland before hanging around in a tense match against Kenya in the last round, the other finalists, Kenya have gone way above the expectations and thrashed teams like Afghanistan and Scotland before edging out Netherlands to make it to the final.
Alex Obanda's men have made the dream run possible by playing good resilient cricket. One of the features of their brand of cricket in the tournament has been ruthlessness as well. Many believed that it is this combination of ruthlessness and resilience that saw Kenya come back strongly from being in a situation of facing a heavy defeat to almost winning the match in the last round against none other than Ireland.
To state the obvious, Kenya will be heavily depend on Seren Waters, Hiren Varaiya and veterans Collins Obuya and Thomas Odoyo. Fortunately for them, all four have been in great form right throughout the season.
On the other hand, William Porterfield is an ambitious man and why not? He has the team to beat. Ireland's run in the second leg of the tournament have ironed out many of the flaws seen earlier in the tournament. A Familiar Opponent
Its the first final between the two teams in years but Ireland v Kenya is a fixture that has been played out quite a few times in the last few weeks -- twice since the beginning of the tournament. If the results of those two matches is any indication, then Kenya have a slight advantage, having being unbeaten on both occasions. Ireland have scored just once been able to score 300+ in the four innings of the two matches in ATA that being 328/8 in the last match. Interestingly, both the highest and the lowest score for Kenya against Ireland came in the same match. These facts mean the African team has the definite upper hand on mental front however, the win loss ratio looks drastically different when you look at the overall record between the two teams in all formats at the international level.

Ireland, by crushing Afghanistan in their very first match, started off in an aggressive fashion and went on beat associate first class heavyweights like Netherlands and Scotland in the matches to follow and brushing aside Canada too en-route to the final and is touted as the favorites to win the match despite their poor 0-1 record against Kenya in the leagues stages of the tournament since they have the force with them. Last time these two teams met, Seren Waters was Man of the Match for match turning 315 ball 117 run innings studded with 23 fours and a six over mid wicket off George Dockrell and has consistently made contributions in recent times: in the last five innings he has scored 117, 74, 33, 68 and 67. A mouth'water'ing show can't be too far away.

Lovely, the best written piece of work I seen in this section, the hard work you put on this is just marvelous. Hats of to a great league, although we did manage Scotland who did finish below and yeah, I guess it wasn't our day in most of the games. Thank you for a wonderful league though.
