Australian Domestic Cricket

Yeah, we should have learnt by now to let him carry the drinks!!!

Tasmania are already doing that with him in FC cricket.

Fact is Tasmania's team isn't strong enough to accommodate a attacking off-spinner in its FC XI. Doherty suits Tas FC XI balance better, but of course that doesn't mean anything since its obvious which of Krejza or Doherty is better equipped for test cricket.

Without looking back over previosu posts in here...been researching the OD rules this season for the ICC 2011 design doc. They look really, really, really weird. How has it gone down under? I know the initial player review was 80% against.
The bowling rules are a lot better. I would like to see relaxed legside wides, 2 bouncers an over and one bowler allowed 12 overs in ODIs. The reintroduction of 12-a-side probably also helps to see good bowlers picked. With 7 games left, there have already been 4 more 4-wicket hauls and twice as many 5s as last season.

Haven't seen this game but what was that new guy Cummins like?? I saw he took 3 wickets..

Please play Cummins over Coyte. There is big wraps on him being a genuine speedster.
Bowled his first over at about 140-142 kph. Looks like he'd normally bowl mostly mid-130s, but that's still plenty fast at 17. Good athlete, good action, tall too and generates bounce; a scary prospect.

Recorded the first innings, I see I have something to look out for with Cummins getting 3 fer.

Krejza very unlucky, he had Khawaja plumb.

After all the help from the umpire they still can't do the job and that last ball was Rana worst one too.

Faulkner looks a good talent, got some decent enough pace and has a good slower ball as those commentators keep harping on about.

Cummins was pretty impressive especially for a 17 year old. Bowled good pace and bowled with good line and length. Something which Mitchell Johnson doesn't understand the concept of.

We've got quite a talented crop of teenagers and 20/21 year olds going around domestic cricket atm

Blody hell!!!! What a match!!!! The stupid umpirers really tried to screw us over, some very, very ordinary decisions. Good to see Krejza bowl well after me bagging him out in another thread :p.

NSW are going to need to let go of some of the pace talent probably Cameron and Cockley then hope some of the youngsters get picked for Australia. Right now they have Starc, Hazlewood, Copeland and now Cummins as future star fast bowlers.

NSW don't often offload their senior players. Usually it's the young players that get picked up with a better deal.

I don't think Copeland will play for Australia. His records in the shorter format are pretty terrible and I think that shows he has a few deficiencies in his bowling. Also from what i've been on tv he hasn't been anything spectacular.

Somebody made a comment recently saying the changes in domestic rules i.e anybody can play for any state is hurting Australia because spots are being filled by older players. I don't agree with this for a second because is players weren't allowed to cross states we wouldn't have guys like Wade and Hastings who wouldnt have gotten opportunities when younger due to other players. If the states are smart they'll sense the wealth of talent in NSW bowling stocks and pinch a few to top up their own. Having said that i've noticed these days nearly all the domestic teams have pretty strong depth in bowling. For e.g. Vics have Siddle, McKay, Nannes, Harwood, JPat, D Pattinson, Hastings, Wright, Cleary, McGain, Holland and even McDonald is quite handy with the ball

Yeah I hate that argument. The only problem is when you've got terrible players taking up spots, not old ones. If the young players need a competition free of tough veterans, they should stick to the 2nd XI.

I think the bowling stocks are good, but also a bit localised. I don't think SA has anywhere near what Qld, NSW or Victoria have coming through. There is definitely a case for spreading the love around.

Well from what ive seen of Copeland he seems more suited to test matches than ODIs though.

Ye ive seen all of them except the bolded & they look promising, while the bolded are getting nice plaudits from those who have seen them. More reason why i say to people who try to compare AUS decline to what happened to the Wines 76-91 golden era, is that AUS have the talent to stay on stop. Its just the decision makers aka the selectors who since 2007/08 have been messing up the test side.

Hence why he should be playing for Australia A more so we can get a better idea. Also would help if we played more of those games too.

Christian and Ferguson showed what we are missing out. Ferguson played the more impressive knock, he took next to no risk and still managed to score at a strike rate of 140. That really confirms he should have been in the WC squad at the very least.
