Australian Domestic Cricket

Lack of captaincy options and probably his last bowling spell saved him.

Nice to see Victoria playing a heap of youngsters look forward to seeing how they go.

Carters, Keath and Hill have obviously been around a bit, but something from them would be good. Carters and Keath definitely have some nice strokes, but Hill recently has built more of a reputation for defence.

Evan Gulbis is a bit of a prominent name in Melbourne cricket. He made a stack of hundreds in the last two seasons and can handle the T20s, but he's in the middle of a rough season at the moment and I'm not sure where he figures. He has taken a few wickets this season and tends to bat up the order, so perhaps he is there simply as someone who can cover a lot of gaps.

Salpietro on the other hand is probably there for his offbreaks and may start as a number 8, leaving Gulbis 12th man.

Lol if Prior has gone they should have Davies in return or something. But I don't think it would matter Victoria can't make it anyway can they... May as well blood some youngsters.

Carters opening the batting should be good seeing how he goes. Wade should be opening though, although he is out of form I still feel opening is where he does his best work.

----------

Boy NSW have named a long batting lineup. Abbott and Armstrong more than capable with the bat. Bowling will be the issue though.

O'Keefe is so good at doing that, not only getting the breakthrough but taking another wicket in the over. His batting has been awesome as well.

Cummins has looked good again, unlucky not to have another wicket with the dropped catches early on.

Dan Smith's face said it all about Henriques' 140 kph ball. Match average: 116. Came out of nowhere.

----------

That's carnage. Hill out, Wade needed to stay in. The debutantes and tailend need to find 40 from 3 overs.

Been some impressive bowling and pace by the youngsters. Abbott got to 138 and in general he was very good. Was bowling yorkers with ease something some of the International guys could learn. Henriques was generating some good pace when he wanted to. So much talent being wasted in that boy.

Cummins has been awesome at the death, 3 yorkers, followed by a slower ball. A 17yo shows up Siddle tonight.

Haven't seen much domestic cricket so not use to Cosgrove in Tassie colours. Good start by Richardson, looks to be getting some swing.

NSW team takes another hit and Hughes dropped.

Stuart CLARK (C)
Sean ABBOTT
Tim ARMSTRONG
Scott COYTE
Patrick CUMMINS
Luke DORAN
Moises HENRIQUES
Phillip JAQUES
Usman KHAWAJA
Ben ROHRER
Daniel SMITH
Dominic THORNELY
David WARNER

I'm hoping both Armstrong and Doran get a game but I suspect they will be the ones to miss out.

If the Redbacks lose by around 150 runs then Tassie get up to 1st spot. Carn the Vics :p.
