Australian Domestic Cricket

Think we can forget about Warne's return initially anyway. Those of you watching the game or on twitter will know why. Highly unlikely his hand will be sorted in 5 days.
Apparently its not as bad as it looks. He just said hes hoping to bowl by Wednesday...

I dont know about that, but he will def be playing by the weekend.

He could always just bowl left-handed and still be the best spinner in the world. If Swann is considered the best, it's not a very high benchmark.

Haze is out for 6-8 weeks, big blow for him as it looked like he was finally over the injuries and looking at kicking on in the 2nd half of the season.

No Test cricket for awhile, but luckily the Shield season resumes in 3 days. It would be good if a broadcaster tried to cash-in on the success of the test series and the BBL and televised some games.

What's with SA playing 8 days straight of cricket though? :p

Wondering who played Sri Lanka? The Victorian 2nd XI had bigger fish to fry! Handscomb, Keath, Carters, Sheridan and Boland all come in for this twlight Shield game at Adelaide.

Finch, Hussey, McKay and Wade on internationals; Maxwell, Hastings and James Pattinson of course injured.

Lazy Siddle not playing even though he wouldn't have to get up early.

Handscomb with his maiden ton, he is a guy Victoria need to stick with. Good thing the Aussies have taken away a couple of their players to ensure he will get a few games this month.

SA going well in spite of that double hundred partnership. All other wickets have come cheaply.

and carters doing no favours, a soft edge in front of the cordon

Keath failed again. At the moment Herrick is a better batsman than Keath. Undermanned side. At the moment we have Siddle, Pattinson, Wade, Hussey, Finch, McKay, Hastings and Maxwell out. Due to the retirements of Wright, Harwood, Nannes and the disappearance of D-Pat, our bowling depth isn't as strong as what it used to be. But we've been riding on our experienced guns for a while and it's about time the next generation put their hands up. Handscomb has taken his opportunity with both hands. Carters and Keath, not so much.

All about unearthing the new bowling star, NSW just keeps chucking them in and they end up coming out on the right side. Think we have hit our limit however with Coyte being recalled.

Carters and Keath just never seem to make any head wave, so too Hill and even Finch. Handscomb looks like he could finally break that trend for young Victorian batsmen.

Finch has been a solid batsman. Averages mid 30s in all formats. Not brilliant, but not too bad either. Better than a lot of other domestic batsmen.

Buchanan shouldn't be anywhere near the squad. My old man is a grade cricket umpire and reckons he's barely good enough to be making a grade first XI.

He's been thrown into the system only because they didn't want him to enter the AFL draft, not because of his pure talent, ability and results.

Vics bowlers getting knocked around a little, though I suspect those 3 wickets without the old ball might turn into an advantage later.

Over 32.1: Holland to Head, FOUR, short, pulls it away in front of square leg - the boys away!! Four from his ball ala David Gower in 1979 on his Test Debut. He made 8000+ runs for England so hopefully that bodes well for the lad.
someone's a fan

James Smith with another 50, he's been doing a Ponting.
Just so many SA batsmen that aren't reaching their potential.
