Australian Domestic Cricket

You will actually find they should have taken the second as one way or another they would have got points. If they were run out it would have been a tie and they would have got 3 points.

On Maxwell he is one hard bloke to get away and always seems to pick up wickets in Shield cricket.

"They're giving fast bowlers a bad name aren't they? We've discussed that already (in the change rooms)," Lehmann said.

"They should know the rules. But having said that, we lost 4 for 13 and we should have got those runs in the end.

"It was a great game of cricket. Both sides have probably got an empty feeling really.

Lehmann says Test-squad member Cutting, who suffered a side strain during the match, is likely to miss the domestic Twenty20 competition in December-January as part of his recovery process.

Victoria captain Cameron White said he was puzzled why the Bulls did not go for the extra run.

"I guess that's what you get when you get a couple of fast bowlers at the crease who probably didn't know the rule either," White said.

Haha fast bowlers across the world will be knocking on Feldman and Cutting's door.

Exactly, that's what I was thinking, just go for it. Shouldn't have come to the final ball anyway. Forrest played a top knock but should have just looked for the single, no need to play that big risky shot. Gotta feel for McKay too, he looked shattered after dropping that catch.

Soft fielding has really been an issue for Victoria and they could have won that by claiming their chances just as easily as Forrest could have worked a few singles. Bob Quiney is just about the only guy in the side who is more likely to take a difficult catch than spill it. It should be a pretty good fielding side otherwise with Hussey, White, Maxwell and Finch. McKay and Herrick aren't your classic awkward fast bowlers either, they too are dropping balls they ought to catch. I thought McKay made good ground but just didn't seem to come forward enough as the ball dropped; he looked more like a centre half forward leading a long pass than an outfielder tracking a plunging cricket ball. Classy nonetheless, but just not quite right.

We just keep producing the quicks, now we have Lalor doing the goods. He looks to be a good older ball bowler which is handy since he can swing the new ball a mile.

Too bad Patterson missed out. Henriques hasn't bowled so could've slotted him in there, or for Rorher until he finds some form.

What happened to O'Keefe anyway? I remember him diving into the fence or something in one game, then came back and resumed bowling. Don't know if he's played since.

Henriques has been our form batsmen so he has earned the right to play as a batter. Rorher would have been the one I'd be looking at. Maddinson is definitely lucky to be in there though.

Split webbing.

Yeah, haven't been impressed with Maddinson from what I've seen. I guess he had a killer last season though, so is still riding that. It would look a bit strange dropping him from NSW after just playing for Aus A too.
Rorher's spot seems secure while acting captain, which sucks. If they won't drop him from one dayers with his 22 average, probably not going to happen in FC.

Bunch of fried chickening rocket scientists taking the captaincy off Katich.

Mighty Zeus has punched WA square in the crotch. As good a day 1 as you could hope to play, but they'll struggle to get through the rest of the match thanks to rain and thunderstorms.

When is BBL starting? Not much enthusiasm anywhere...Is it gonna be on youtube like IPL?

Katich having a shocking season, he will want some runs soon as KP is banging on the door.

Nice to see Lalor getting a 5 fer, I'd like to keep him but can't see where he would fit in with a full strength side so he'll probably need to move states and hopefully carry this form over.

Katich is either scoring single or triple digits this season pretty much :facepalm Woeful batting all 'round from us.

I see Rorher is sliding down the order. Another of those injuries we don't hope for, but are glad to have?

About a week or so I think.

Adelaide signed Botha? I thought they could only have 2 overseas players (they also have Pollard and Alfonso), or can they only play 2 in a match?

Maxwell has proven to be so handy. Good to see him getting a nice hit out, but I can see him being wasted down at 8. Still if we want a big hitting spinning all rounder for the ODI side then he looks to be the man.
