Australian Premier League XIII

So they are banned by the ICC. What the ICC says goes here, so those 3 are ineligible. You can keep them on your squad lists if you want. If they get their suspensions lifted they will be able to play. Akshay and riz's call I guess.

Season IV Review

Season IV saw another unsuccessful season for the Heroes. Lacking depth in all departments and relying on one or two players, Hobart quickly found themselves at the bottom of the table. In a last gasp attempt though late in the season they found themselves winning the 'bottom blockbuster' against Newcastle to finish second last for the season.

Ryan Carters, 5/10: Managed two games with Paine been injured. Had a solid knock of 40 but then got out cheaply in his last chance before Paine came back. He'll be looking to stay as second keeper.

Steven Cazzulino, 5/10: Started off nicely in the season, notching up two 50's. But then a fall of form saw him leave the XI and he couldn't find himself into the side until the last few rounds in his unpreferred down the order spot.

Aaron Finch, 6/10:
Big expectations were on Finch to perform in the weak domestic batting line-up. Unfortunately he rarely delivered despite having multiple chances to. A couple of times he got going, but never could crack onto a big score.

Grant Flower, 3/10:
Flower had truly a season to forget. In the six matches he played, his highest score was 33 and he had an average of 15.3. He'll need to bribe the management at the Heroes if he wants a new contract.

Usman Khawaja, 4/10:
Khawaja, along side Finch, was crucial to have a good season if the Heroes wanted some finals action. Unfortunately it didn?t happen as Khawaja quickly found himself out of the team and ending up with only an average of 22.5. It has been speculated that Khawaja is sick of Tasmania and wants to go.

Tim Paine, 8/10: One of the few positives for the Heroes this season. Started slowly resulting in him been dropped down the order but then really hit some form and towards the end of the season had a brilliantly opening combo with Tendulkar. He ended up averaging 49 with four fifties and was the leading run scorer for Hobart.

Matthew Sinclair, 5/10: The surprise selection for Hobart played wonders in the first match when Sinclair scored 63, unfortunately though he only managed 17 more runs in his next three matches and was subsequently dropped. He has stated that he probably won?t be at the Heroes next season.

Andrew Strauss, 5/10: Had a shocking year with the bat, only averaging a mere 22. The English captain had ample opportunities but never got going and was soon pushed out of the opening spot. He certainly has the talent, but will Hobart be willing to give him another go?

Sachin Tendulkar AKA God, 7/10: Mr. Reliable has another strong season with the Heroes averaging 38. Though not as spectacular as last season, the captain was always there to help push the batting total up. He is a favourite amongst Hero fans and is loving Tasmania.

Andrew Flintoff, 9/10: Possible the best batting of his career to date happened this season. More a Bowling allrounder, Flintoff batting down at number 6 or 7 but he showed his one of the best batsmen going around as he averaged 62 and helped save plenty of innings from been a total disaster. He was clearly the leading wicket taker also, snagging 16 wickets at 32.1.

Ben Cutting, 4/10: Only played a handful of games and didn?t trouble the batsmen much. He could only manage two wickets and a pretty high economy rate of 5.1.

Gerald Denton,5/10: Played just two matches and only got to bowl eight overs. Was expensive but did get two wickets.

Steven Finn,5/10: Will look to show more next season after taking three wickets on debut, he only managed one more in 3 games. Finn has plenty of potential and he?ll be looking for a regular spot in the XI.

Ben Hilfenhaus,4/10: Had a very poor season after a great season III. Played every match but only got the eight wickets and was very expensive as well. He?s one of many Heroes who?ll be looking to significantly improve next season.

Rana,6/10: Many people were surprised at how little Rana played. It took him until round 10 to get a game and he really performed. In his two games put together he got 4/82 off 16 overs and got 35 runs. Next season it?s predicted that he?ll get a lot more games.

Nathan Rimmington,6/10: Played five matches and did okay. Nothing too spectacular but got a nice 6 wickets and an average of 39.

Mitchell Starc,6/10: The young New South Welshman played a lot more games than what many thought. Plenty of things were impressive as well, especially his ability to slow the run rate down. He didn?t get many wickets, but with an economy of 4.4 things look good for him.

Xavier Doherty,4/10: The only spinner in the Heroes squad after the department of Bryce McGain, a lot of pressure was put on him. Unfortunately though he was strongly criticized and his on field performance was affected. Doherty could only manage to get 6 wickets for the season and ended with an average of 73, the highest of the team.
