Australian Premier League XIII

YES! Champions at long last. What a season this has been. We lost the first two games and then bounced back with 11 wins on the trot. Great stuff by the players.

The bowlers were a touch expensive throughout. Kulasekara had a rare bad day, but the Harwood made up with that with an economical spell. Again the bowlers werent brilliant but made sure they took regular wickets throughout to keep us alive. We got Katich and White cheaply, so we were looking forward to exposing their fragile middle order but came across Maddinson who played an impressive knock.

The chase didnt get off to the best start with Carters departing early but Voges and Jaques were brilliant and took the game away from the Lions with a brilliant partnership of 170. Then Hussey came along and Along with Jaques nearly guided us home. A strutter there, but shots from Dhoni and Allenby ensured that we won with 11 bowls to spare.

Truely a fantastic season, I think we managed a record 11-wins in the APL. Lets keep it going for the next season as well :D

Can we keep all the players Biggy? I hardly see the need of replacing even the fringe players.

Disappointed that Hussey didnt make the Australian all star team but we already had Voges, Rimmington and Jaques, so it would have been too dominated on Panthers side.

Had a couple of players in the game, they were both down the order though, so weren't really able to showcase their batting talent fully. Watson was pretty decent with the ball though.

Can you tell us exactly how the draft will work, so I can see who I want to release.

E.g. Because I came 3rd/4th, does that mean even I release a lot of players I still won't get an early pick?

Basically you release whoever you want then just for the first round of the draft (locals and internaitonals) you pick in the reverse order of this season pasts ladder, 12th - 1st. Then we go back to whoever needs the most players goes first.

The following players are ineligible as under 23's:

Matthew Wade (Geelong Eagles)
Mick Delaney (uncontracted)
Joel Davies (uncontracted)

Up to you. Just confirm again you aren't releasing anyone.:thumbs

Nice, I had 5 players in the All Star game, record for my team. Most of them did pretty well as well.

Simon Katich - 86 off 105 (An innings much like he has played the rest of the season)
Cameron White - 21 off 24 (Reasonable batting effort)
Alister McDermott - 0/41 off 10 overs (Australia's best bowler)
Jacques Kallis - 0/33 off 5 and DNB (Pretty poor game for him)
James Anderson - 1/58 off 10 (Bowled pretty well but was hit around at the end)

i only had the two players but they had the biggest impact in the game, kallis at seven was a waste tbh.

Just going off season stats and where they played throughout the season (or close enough), or what's the point?

Well he played at 4/5 for most of the season and played at 6/7 for the finals but yes, his batting stats were pretty horrible.

I will keep all my players Biggy. Thanks.

Just noticed we did a double this season. The APL and the McGrath Foundation Cup :D
