Australian Premier League XIII

Gautam Gambhir
David Warner/Simon Katich
Sourav Ganguly (C)
Dominic Thornely
Moises Henriques
Daniel Smith (WK)
Chris Wood
Harbhajan Singh
Shane Harwood
James Pattinson
Ryan Sidebottom

This will probably be my side for the 1st McGrath foundation match. Looks good to me but don't know how other sides pan out.

Mate Dominic Thornely and Moises Henriques are not a four and five!!!
Trust me, I had them last year.

Thornely - 44 runs @ an average of 11
Henriques 37 runs @ an average of 12.3

I'm only trying to help you...

Oh my, really? I'm in trouble if that happens again. I thought both were very good actually. I don't have any replacements for them then. If I bring in Rahul Dravid, I'll have to get aside either of Sidebottom or Harbhajan. Or, I can leave Gambhir out which I don't feel like doing.

Don't take much notice of how they performed last season.. They may come good this season, all up to Cricksim. ;)

I would though, recommend playing Katich and Warner then dropping either Wood/Henriques/Thornely.

Yeah, Cricksim is funny. Used it for my story occasionally and know that. I'll try out a certain things before the actual comp. Any chance of friendlies or something?

APL Chairman Biggy has stated that although the Pre-season is almost upon us he is yet to confirm the second season fixtures. "We are seriously considering shortening the regular season in order for a longer finals series. It just felt like we built it up slowly for a far too quick climax We will be taking all suggestions into consideration." The latest news has been suggesting that he will go for a reduced rounds season with a top 8 finals series.

In other news, Under-19 World Cup winning squad member Alex Keath has signed a contract spanning several years with the Victorian Bushrangers. Keath has also shown interest in a possible APL contract.

Considering he hasn't played any DOM cricket, I really don't think he'll be up to APL standard of versing all the best bowlers in the world.

CG123 added 1 Minutes and 11 Seconds later...

What about two groups of six, where you verse all the other teams in your group twice. (10 rounds), then have the top three go through to the play-offs in each group???
