So! The first Bangladesh Premier League season comes to a close, and in terms of action, we were not dissapointed! Congratulations to Duronto Rajshahi, who win the first edition of tournament, having gone through most of the tournament unbeaten, apart from suffering a hiccup at Chittagong. Taking Rajshahi out of the equation, the BPL was hard fought for, with Chittagong, Khulna, Sylhet and Barisal all neck and neck going into the last round. For Dhaka however, fortunes did not go their way as they did not manage to muster a single win in the whole season. The recognitions are awarded as follows:

ORANGE CAP:
(Top Run Scorer)

The honour for this season goes to a man who staked a late claim for the accolade when his team most needed it. The Pakistani opener piled on the runs for the Kings in the lead up to the final, and Chittagong should be indebted to him. He faced stiff competition from Chris Gayle, who saw it like beach ball at times, but Congratulations to:
TAUFEEQ UMAR - Chittagong

PURPLE CAP:
(Top Wicket Taker)

Taking home the Purple Cap is another Pakistani, who swept up the opposition to devastating effect, to add to his sides powerful batting line-up. He may have been quiet for most of the season, overshadowed by his team's success in the Batting Department, but this man nipped in when the going got tough:
RANA NAVED - Rajshahi

PLAYER OF THE SEASON:

Proving himself a responsible leader, while donning the gloves for his team, this person was a valuble asset, sticking in at the end to responsibly lead his team till the end when the going got tough. He thorughly deserves the accolade of player of the season for being the main protaganist in his teams road to Bangladesh Premier League victory:

MUSHIQUR RAHIM - Rajshahi

I've got some free time, so let's get some pieces of Admin that would be better to get over and done with now ahead of Season two, as after this week, I'll seldomly be active until after the summer, so that when I return, we can hit the ground running. More info coming up shortly.
