Batting with the tail

Are you serious mate?

Average of 51.13 in odi's and Average of 42.59 in tests. Its a great record in my opinion he often bats with tail because he comes lower down the order. If he starts coming 3rd down i am sure his average will improve and he will be a better batsmen then what he is now.

Steven Waugh is the best that I`ve ever seen, when it comes to batting with the tail. From current squads, Hussey, VVS and Chanders are pretty good at it.

Andy Flower probably would have found himself in numerous occasions where he had to bat with the tail, not exactly how successful he was though. Michael Hussey is definitely a good one, his partnership with Peter Siddle in one of the tests against Pakistan is a prime example of what he is capable of.

With Zimbabwe, the rest of the order WAS the tail :laugh He simply couldn't captain, open and keep wicket so something had to give.

Allan Border was great too- famous tail end partnerships involving Gilbert ( 85), Thomson (82), that superb one at Faisalabad in 1988, vs NZ in Brisbane 1985, Perth 1979 vs Eng, both innings of the Trinidad test vs WI in 1984. Oh, and that great ton against Pak at Adelaide in 1983, 1st test at Chennai in 1979 unbeaten, and the Oval in 1981 the whole side crumbled Border got a ton not out, actually didnt he get stranded on a ton in consecutive tests back in 1981, 5th test and 6th test?? so many times he was stranded.

I'd think there's not a single batsmen better than Border in batting with the tail.

I remember seeing Inzamam playing a great innnings against West Indies with the tail to basically win the match. He isn't the best with the tail but probably one of the better bats with the tail.
