I am struggling big time with my first class bowling, i used to bowl at the batmans weakness in ICC 2008 and had success, but it just isnt happening with ICC2008, i have tried different lines/lengths and aggression levels but constantly struggle to bowl sides out even on seaming pitches/cloudy conditions, especially in the second innings, has anyone else struggled with bowling in the new version?

Yep! :(

I haven't found this problem with a fairly standard bowling attack: Surrey's after a fairly small change after the first season, I now have a different International bowler.

Super Regens are cool :) But then they get too super if you know what I mean, they keep winning you matches and the challenge is gone.

I have had a second thought with my "no problem" though... I was in Div2.

I won that, so lets see how the third season goes with a couple of very promising regens.

At Essex I have Kaneria, if the opposition get a big partnership going, both right-handers, I like to bowl around the wicket with a packed slips cordon. They edge playing against the spin a fair bit.

One big question I have is this: With LFM, LF or LMF bowlers, do you go over or around the wicket?

You have to find what's best for you. I vary it a lot. I don't think there is a set way which will always be better.

Mitchell Johnson is very good bowling around the wicket at the batsman feet. He is the only Left Hand Pace bowler I have used to date.

As sureshot says there is no magic formula to bowling, there is a lot to take into consideration, the pitch conditions/weather/batsmans strengths/ the form of your bowlers, look at the ball tracker and if a wicket falls make a note of where the ball pitched, and look at chances like the batman playing and missing.
As regard to Left arm seamers i normally bowl them over the wicket, but will try around the wicket to break a partnership or if a batsman is on a big score.
If a RH batsman is a strong offside player then go around the wicket to tuck him up and deny him room for offside shots.

These are the only tactics I use.

Bowler A- over the wicket to batsman A, around the wicket to batsman B
Bowler B- around the wicket to batsman B, over the wicket to batsman A

I always target middle and off and bowl on the default 3 bar setting. Oh and, I bowl full all the time.

Works quite well.

There are other tactics involved as well obviously. For example, in ODIs:

0-10: Bowler A, Bowler B (2 fast bowlers)
10-20: Bowler C (fast bowler), Bowler D (Fast/Spin Bowler)
20-30: Bowler D (Fast/Spin Bowler), Bowler E (Spin Bowler)
30-40: Bowler E (Spin Bowler), Bowler A/B (Fast bowlers)
40-50: Bowler C, Bowler A/B (Fast bowlers)

Basically, I use fast bowlers in spells of five overs and spinners in spells of 10.
