Private letters written by Don Bradman, largely to former Australian board chairman Bob Parish, have been discovered by Cricket Australia just days before his birth centenary on August 27. The subjects of the letters range from the ban on tours to South Africa during the apartheid era, remuneration for players, and World Series Cricket.

Don Bradman felt the lbw law should be tweaked so that batsmen are given out for deliveries that pitch outside off and leg stump, provided they don't offer a shot.

Opinion of such Great or the Greatest batsmen ever in the history would be definately worth to watch...

He was the GREATEST BATSMAN EVER IN CRICKET,and no body can surpass him....Real God gift and talented as well.

Forever superstar
Modern fame is perishable; Bradman's wasn't. And his feats are just about half of what his legend survives.

Not so long ago I found myself at a trivia night, when a round was announced with the designation "Famous Faces": this involved a sheet of paper featuring the images of 20 allegedly famous persons. My table gathered to brainstorm and banter. After a pause, looks were exchanged. We reviewed the evidence again. Hmm, nope - not one figure did any of us recognise: they were faces, it transpired, from reality television we'd never watched, pop music we'd never heard, sport we didn't care about. Few things today date you so reliably as that group of people you consider "famous".

Needless to say: The greatest player ever.

'Bradman remains unassailable'

Ricky Ponting has rated the achievements of Don Bradman above those of the Olympic swimmers Michael Phelps and Mark Spitz and sprinter Usain Bolt. On the 100th anniversary of Bradman's birth, Ponting will deliver the Bradman Oration in Sydney and speak about his "ageless legacy".

Ponting said it was "amusing" when people compared him to Bradman. "There's no need to even look at the record books to know there is no comparison," he said. Ponting's average over 119 Tests currently stands at 58.37 - a long way from 99.94.

Thanks for this information. In Australia Bradman is probably honoured very hughly.

He was a legend here's what i read today in Mumbai Mirror some Great Facts there were some 50 facts i have here 2-3 interesting
one:D

"Fancy doing That!!" -Bradman's words after being bowled for a duck in his last tests innings,in which he neded only 4 runs for an Average of 100:eek:

He was nick named "Braddles "

The ABC's postal address in all state & territory capitals is PO box no.9994 tribute to his Average of 99.94

He left school in 1922 & went to work as estate agent

He hit first century at 12, playing for Bowral public school*

Also in TOI (Times of India) they have mentioned that after Bradman, the most talked player is Tendulkar who is very much liked in Australis, and the people there have welcomed and like him in all his 4 tours (Ind tour to Aus).

That true, the most talked and liked player is Tendulkar (one might say that he is not performing now like earlier),but one must also consider that he is playing Internaltional Cricket for almost 20 yrs, secondly no one has been handeling so much of expectations and pressure in his whole Internaltional Cricket Carrier,he has so many records.

The last and main: Bradman himself told, the player who resembles him the most is Tendulkar.

No need to mention Tendulkar's greatness after that/above comment.

There was some news of people looking into hidden runs that Bradman scored and that would take his average to 100.
