We are Bargain Hunting, ladies and gentlemen!
Well we've got a real Bobby Dazzler of a draft for you all today. We'll be making Test teams again, and in a nice change of pace you have complete freedom over who you select. The only slight challenge is that you'll have only 100 "tariff points" to spend on making the best eleven you possibly can.

Tariff Points
Every player who has ever played Test cricket has a "tariff" value:
  1. :bat: Based on a player's batting average, for every one full run over 20 they cost one tariff point.
  2. :bwl: Based on a player's bowling average, for every one run under 50 they cost one tariff point.
    • If a player has taken 0.5 wickets per match or fewer, then they will not cost any tariff points.
  3. The maximum tariff for any player is 50 points. The minimum tariff for any player is 0 points.
It sounds very complicated when it's written down, so here are a few worked examples:
:aus: :bat: Allan Border - :bat: average 50 (30 pts) / :bwl: fewer than 0.5 wickets per match (0 pts) - Tariff: 30 points
:eng: :ar: Ben Stokes - :bat: average 35 (15 pts) / :bwl: average 32 (18 pts) - Tariff: 33 points
:pak: :wk: Wasim Bari - :bat: average 15 (0 pts) / :bwl: nope (0 pts) - Tariff: 0 points
:saf: :ar: Jacques Kallis - :bat: average 55 (35 pts) / :bwl: average 32 (18 pts) - Tariff: 50 points (maxed out at 50)
:wi: :bwl: Daren Powell - :bat: average 7 (0 pts) / :bwl: average 47 (3 pts) - Tariff: 3 points
If that's still confusing, feel free to consult this spreadsheet which has players arranged by name, matches and tariff costs. Please do note that it was made last week, so a couple of players have become a bit more expensive since it was made.

The Rules
  1. You are trying to select the best possible Test team of 11 players.
  2. You will have 100 Tariff points to spend on players.
  3. Every player selected must have played at least one Test match.
  4. As in all drafts, if 24 hours pass without the next person making their pick after being tagged then the next person can go ahead and pick.

I have not participated in a draft for a very long time. I'd like to give this one a go if there's space.
