Awesome, Round 9 is now out! Some people got lucky (in a shock twist, this includes Ed); some people got screwed (including the worst pool of the draft, surprisingly not going to Ed).
Ddrap's Pool
Mine's not much better. It's saved by the last two - I need pace bowling, and both offer it. I'll take Jhye Richardson who's on a nuts wickets/games pace for a guy who's mostly played L/O. FYI, if not for two debutants who joined the overall list between Rounds 8 and 9, I'd have had to take Jonty Rhodes and been in a pinch

Ahmed's Pool
There's five realistic options here, depending on a team's situation - a genuine rarity. But the best of the, and the one Ahmed takes, is Vernon Philander. Perfect pick for a team in the same situation as me.
CerealKiller's Pool
Another team needing two of a kind - this time, top order batters - and getting one here. While not as good a player as Mitch, Neil Johnson could hold his own with bat and ball, and is best known for a stellar 1999 World Cup. Stats for this period are a bit low, as he effectively Kolpak'd within a year of the new millenium.

This is not the worst pool, despite what you may think. It's horrific situationally though as, with Parth needing batting or a spinning allrounder, he gets shit BAN quicks. Abul Hasan has a surprisingly good batting record in FC too, which qualifies him as a #7 in this context.

Not brilliant, but one of the positions I need is opener, and there are candidates to fill it - I'm going for a little bit of a homer in Cam Bancroft who can also be an emergency keeper. Now for Glenn McGrath next week.

After getting five pools worth of pacers, Kane Williamson was a much more familiar sight for Parth then he was for my Kiwi friend when he played England earlier this year.

Ahmed surprisingly doesn't take Abdullah Shafique, and instead goes for Yusuf Abdulla. Strategy perhaps to taking the South African James Muirhead?

Mohsin's bowling attack is completed by R.P. Singh. The wrong pool next time makes him over Matt Sinclair a poor decision, but it's a necessary risk either way.

I think this is the last team without a keeper, until now - Gary Wilson is selected to take the gloves.

I'll answer Ed's question here - yes, Naveen-ul-Haq is available.
