The RNG Draft

Wanted Chetan Chauhan but I already have 2 openers

So jack cheetham it is

While the draft is now done, I had something else on my mind too. With the draft we were looking to create a balanced squad get the right players which I did but I also wanted to do something completely related to the namesake RNG draft.
So what I did was used Google number to generate numbers between 1 to 10 to see what my real RNG team would look like,
The results round wise are
Greame Smith
GR RObertson
H Mcleod
Aftab Ahmed
DG Sewell
Shai Hope
Sikandar Raza
ST Clarke
MF Malone
SC Getkate
S Sriram

The team
:saf: :bat: Graeme Smith
:wi: :wkb: Shai Hope
:ban: :ar: Aftab Ahmed
:zim: :ar: Sikandar Raza :right:
:ind: :ar: Sridharan Sriram :right:
:ire: :ar: Shane Getkate
:aus: :ar: Gavin Robertson :right:
:unf: :wk: Hamish Mcleod
:wi: :bwl: Sylvester Clarke
:aus: :bwl: Mick Malone
:nz: :bwl: David Sewell

I don't expect any upsets.

That's really cool!

In all honesty, I thought you'd misunderstood the rules and chose to reselect your whole team after the 11th player... oop

Okay, analysis time.

@ddrap14 -> Team Unknown
:ken: :wk: Morris Ouma
:sri: :ned: :bat: Flavian Aponso
:ind: :bat: Dilip Vengsarkar
:sri: :bat: Roshen Mahanama
:ind: :ar: Mohinder Amarnath
:aus: :ar: Dan Christian
:eng: :ar: George Ulyett
:aus: :bwl: Geoff Dymock
:nep: :bwl: Sandeep Lamichhane
:saf: :bwl: Lungi Ngidi
:saf: :bwl: Allan Donald

:tick: The bowling unit. Ngidi, Donald, Lamichhane, Dymock, Ulyett, Christian and Amarnath bring not only proper skill but flexibility.
:tick: Decision making and experience. A lot of veterans in this team, and I'd also just like to point out that it's a very good thing I didn't pick Verity over Vengsarkar
:x: Batting. It's pretty reliant on Vengsarkar and Mahanama. And I ended up with two associates at opener.

@Ashutosh. -> Ashutosh Warriors
:eng: :wkb: Jos Buttler
:aus: :bat: Jimmy Burke
:saf: :ar: JP Duminy
:sri: :ar: Angelo Mathews
:zim: :bat: Dave Houghton
:ind: :wkb: Dinesh Karthik
:ind: :ar: Shivam Dubey
:ind: :bwl: Shardul Thakur
:wi: :bwl: Shannon Gabriel
:pak: :bwl: Usman Qadir
:eng: :bwl: Sydney Barnes

:tick: Again, seven bowling options, and while a few are definitely batting all rounders, the four specialists are very good at what they do.
:tick: Flexibility in general. This is a team filled with players who are good (or would be good) at all three formats.
:x: The middle order is a bit weak IMHO. Certainly Mathews is a little high at four, and Shivam Dube was a pick of necessity.

@Yash. -> Hungry Hirani Hamsters
:nzf: :wkb: Glenn Phillips
:uae: :bat: Shaiman Anwar
:eng: :bat: C. B. Fry
:eng: :ar: Gubby Allen
:pak: :bat: Shahzaib Hasan
:sri: :bat: Thilan Samaraweera
:ind: :wkb: BK Kunderan
:wi: :ar: Sunny Narine
:ind: :bwl: Anil Kumble
:aus: :bwl: Bill Whitty
:eng: :bwl: Neil Foster

:tick: You have a batting lineup capable of destruction. A lot of them are known for hitting the ball and hitting it hard, and Sunny Narine even opens in T20s.
:tick: Bowling variations. You have an offspinner, a legspinner, and three very different pacers, all of whom are very good.
:x: Some of the batting again. Also, Shaiman Anwar picked up a ban from all cricket activities between the pick and this analysis...

@NePtuNe Gaming -> Neptune's XI
:wi: :wkb: Shai Hope
:aus: :bat: Martin Love
:eng: :bat: Wally Hammond
:aus: :bat: Peter Burge
:aus: :bat: Nic Maddinson
:nzf: :ar: James Neesham
:ban: :ar: Naeem Islam
:ind::ar: Irfan Pathan
:aus: :bwl: Shane Warne
:aus: :bwl: Terry Alderman
:ind: :bwl: Ishant Sharma

:tick: Once again, a glut of bowling options. A nice variety too, like Yash. This is another team that would love LO cricket.
:tick: A lot of overall quality in this team too. Wally Hammond and Warne stand out, but really the top and bottom four spots are all very good players
:x: In longer format games, that middle 3 may be rather exposed (don't get me wrong I really rate Neesham, he's a much better LO player though).

@Parth D -> Wales XI
:pak: :bat: Abid Ali
:saf: :ar: Eddie Barlow
:pak: :bat: Babar Azam
:saf: :bat: Jack Cheetham
:saf: :ar: Lance Klusener
:ind: :ar: Ravi Jadeja
:aus: :wk: Greg Dyer
:zim: :ar: Elton Chigumbura
:sri: :bwl: Pramodya Wickremasinghe
:saf: :bwl: Kagiso Rabada
:afg: :bwl: Ziaur Rahman

:tick: That top 6 will cause some bowlers in this draft nightmares.
:tick: Jack Cheetham, even if he isn't a world class bat, is probably the best leader in the entire draft.
:x: While you have a lot of bowling options, you'll be leaning a lot on Klusener, Jadeja and Rabada as none of the others are very good.

@Till Valhalla -> Emraan Hashmi
:saf: :bat: Graeme Smith
:ind: :bat: Navjot Singh Sidhu
:aus: :bat: Michael Clarke
:aus: :bat: Keith Stackpole
:sco: :ar: Calum McLeod
:pak: :wk: Adnan Akmal
:sri: :bwl: S Senanayake
:aus: :bwl: H. V. Hordern
:aus: :bwl: Brett Geeves
:sri: :bwl: Lasith Malinga
:wi: :bwl: Kemar Roach

:tick: The top 4 batsmen are top quality players. Will be hard for early breakthroughs for opposing sides.
:tick: And this is a team that will get early breakthroughs with the speed of Malinga and Roach combined with the two mystery spinners.
:x: The batting is a bit short. It's a tail that begins at seven.

@Aislabie -> Scuderia Minardi
:pak: :ar: Aamir Sohail
:ind: :bat: Virender Sehwag
:nzf: :bat: Kane Williamson
:nzf: :bat: John Wright
:eng: :bat: Ted Dexter
:ind: :ar: Vinoo Mankad
:saf: :wk: Denis Lindsay
:eng: :ar: George Geary
:afg: :bwl: Hamid Hassan
:usa: :bwl: Ali Khan
:aus: :bwl: Glenn McGrath

:tick: Batting is very strong. In fact, the best of the draft dare I say.
:tick: This may be the only lineup in the draft where everyone bats where they want to bat. That's a good achievement.
:x: Glenn McGrath is never a negative but he may need to carry a bit of that pace attack given who he's paired off with.

@AsadRM -> Pindi Paindu's
:pak: :bat: Nazir Mohammad
:aus: :bat: Norman O'Neill
:saf: :wkb: AB De Villiers
:eng: :bat: KS Duleepshinji
:ban: :bat: Mominul Haque
:aus: :wk: Peter Nevill
:afg: :ar: Mo Nabi
:eng: :ar: Ian Botham
:nzf: :ar: Chris Cairns
:ned: :bwl: Paul van Meekeren
:pak: :bwl: Shaheen Shah Afridi

:tick: This side bats deep and with quality. Chris Cairns striding out at nine would be demoralising with the scoreboard at 7/450.
:tick: There's a lot of mental fortitude and commitment among these players. Even if some (Beefy) weren't the hardest workers off the field, they'd always give 100% on it.
:x: It's a good thing you have pace bowling allrounders because you're carrying the dead weight of Paul van Meekeren.

It's a very even draft this one. Some people got outdone by the luck of the draw (I'm one of them), but I personally think the three best lineups go to @NePtuNe Gaming (3rd), @Aislabie (2nd) and my preferred lineup despite a player as complete dead weight, @AsadRM (1st). This was an enjoyable draft, and thanks to everyone for participating. The next RNG draft will likely open for signups tomorrow, it's a doozy!

Calling in Greg Chappell to make Akmal and Senanayake in to better batsmen.
