The RNG Draft: Brought to you by Bostik

Pool 10 (1/2)

Ddrap14

This is a pick I'm making more for need than for player; Dean Elgar is a bit better than Grant Elliott, but I feel more secure in getting a #4 than I do in getting another all-rounder.

Ahmed
1679574043712.png
Ahmed's also leaving his #4 to R11, but that's less because of need and more because of his R10 pool; Wes Hall was the only right pick here.
1679574080535.png

Ed
1679574093913.png
Despite being desperate for Gladstone Small, Ed was sensible and took Michael Slater at 2.
1679574160440.png

Aravind
1679574180607.png
Charlie Parker never got a good run with the Poms internationally, but he was a truly great county bowler. His selection means Aravind is also looking for top order in Round 11.

Aislabie
1679574247538.png
And just as luck had deserted him, the perfect fix to the whole "two rubbish bats in the top 7" thing arrived at #5.

Disharies
1679574296681.png
Disharies nominated Greg Chappell. And assigned him to 3. Which was already filled. @Disharies has overnight to fix it, otherwise I'll just bump him to #4 as that's where he played more in Tests.

Parth
1679574402116.png
Parth's second time with the same pool this draft! It produces Kesrick Williams this time.

2/2

Fenil
1679574470562.png
This is a pool that's moved since earlier in the draft, when Disharies picked Denniss Lillee over Denis Lindsay. This time, it's Ray Lindwall over Lindsay, and he bats 10.

Pillowprocter
1679574554466.png
Usman Khawaja at 6 is unconventional, but probably the right call. What's even less conventional is that Procter is looking for a bowler with his last pick!

Till Valhalla
1679574750661.png
Denis Compton got dudded by this as he's an autoselection for any other team. But TV needed all-rounders and while Jeremy Coney had a longer career, Bevan Congdon was his pick.

Is now the time I tell CK that his new quick's career was ended by a temper tantrum? Sorry

Neo 7
1679574971540.png
A choice between cricketing royalty and Royalty royalty resulted in the pick of Lord Tennyson.

Na Maloom Afraad
1679575029410.png
NMA, on the other hand, did go with the associate - picking Elton Chigumbura to go at six.

Depending on if I'm a good uni student or not, pools will either be tomorrow morning or tomorrow night

In my defense I already had Rayudu to grab the gloves from Butterfingers should he spill it and it only made sense to me to go for a tearaway bowler with couple of swing bowlers in the ranks to add to the variety. His batting is a bonus.

Oh, I think it's the right pick - I just didn't expect an all-time great keeper to end up missing out twice in a draft where keepers aren't always available

Yes you are right. Wrong pool for him to be ended up with two of the greatest speedsters ever.

@Neo 7

Awaiting that one pick to finish this draft; if I get it I'll get out the final teams tomorrow night, but then there will likely be a break before I wrap this one up due to uni commitments on the weekdays

Round 11 (1/2)
2/2 will be posted tomorrow

County veteran Hylton Ackerman finishes off this team at 4.

Ed
1679919581853.png
Despite averaging 49 in Tests, Colin Bland was noted as a specialist fielder in several obituaries. He's slightly out of position opening for Ed.

"ODI's don't exist" - CK, 2023
1679919676497.png

Aislabie
1679919686670.png
Charles Leslie (who I think this is) was the only player in this pool to open in a Test match, which meant Aislabie defaulted to him
1679919705917.png

Ahmed
1679919741270.png
An inverse Ed; Alex Lees is maybe more comfortable at 2 than 4, but he's also the clear pick here given Binga is gone
1679919780322.png

Fenil
1679919803392.png
Graeme Hick was another simple pick. Also, Fenil, thank you so much for the kind words - I might run a mini one over the next couple of weeks but otherwise this madness will resume mid-May
1679919875267.png

Parth
1679919888603.png
Instead of the player pic, I'll send Parth's message as it is an all time quote:
1679919916279.png
What exactly does this imply?
