Following the success of the Global T20 Canada in King City, Cricket Canada has opted to expand the scope of Canadian domestic cricket to include a first-class and limited overs competition as well. Rather than using the same teams and structure as the Twenty20 competition, the new domestic structure will feature six provincial teams based at some of the best grounds around the country.
Many of the foreign players from the Global T20 have also made themselves available as part of the player pool for the full season, in addition to a smattering of other players who would like the opportunity to ply their trade in a foreign country.

OT: I've returned to the forum for the time being, and figure that I should try to semi-revive one of my favourite old leagues, the Canadian Premier League. It's a little bit different this time around, not a continuation of the original CPL.
