Champions League Thread (the dawn of time - 2014)

Well, the big clubs got where they are now by producing their own talent, maybe, just maybe they can look into that again rather than ruining teams like Dortmund.

I don't remember the last time Real Madrid produced talent other than Varane,Callejon off late that Madrid produced. So they need to keep their winnings ways going & they have to target good young, talent with a good price tag.So they target clubs that make players into future stars like Arsenal,Benfica,Dortmund & now a days also some Spanish clubs.Really can't argue with that.

Tbf, Varane isn't really their talent, moved to Real Madrid after a year of senior football at Lens.

Anyway, my point being that clubs like Real Madrid(who really do nothing but, splash the cash) need to look at clubs like Barcelona(2 CL titles in the last 4 years) and Bayern Munich(2 CL finals in the last 3 years) who have cracked a balance of sorts, they produce their own talent and also chase the signatures of Europe's finest, that's the way to go if you ask me.

Bayern? Neuer, Dante, Ribery, Robben, Van Buyen, Shaqiri, Boateng, Martinez, Mandzukic, Gomez. That being said, there are some notable standouts like Schweinsteiger, Lahm, and Kroos, and Muller.

I don't think there's any right or wrong way to go about this. Whatever wins matches and trophies.

Compare that to Real Madrid, my point exactly. Ofc there's no right or wrong way to about this(I support City ffs! :p), it's just annoying to watch teams like Dortmund and Arsenal ruined because the "big boys" no longer produce the kind of talent they used to.

Oh, and Shravi, you left out the likes of Badstuber and Alaba, who are also regulars for Bayern.

I know that.City are destroying Arsenal.Well it should depend on them promoting them from the youth squad from their under 19s,under 21s.Wilshire!

Indeed, promoting the Ox from the Southampton youth academy was clever thinking...

Yes, as long you're the one to promote the guy from youth football to senior football, he's all yours to brag about, and I suppose guys on loan away from your academy playing senior level football for someone else count as well.

Real did produce a decent list of players, just that they sold them off instead of developing them.

Anish. changing his colors after every post. I would love Barca winning, followed by Bayern (but yeah they won't be kicking Barca out) followed by Dortmund

Madrid - No way :p

Francisco Javier Garc?a Fern?ndez?
