Victorian Bushrangers amassed 179 for the loss of 7 wickets in their 20.0 overs, despite their openers underperforming. A gutsy 82 from Brad Hodge led the way.
They found themselves in a bit of a predicament after losing both their openers within 2.0 overs. After that, Brad Hodge and David Hussey neutralized the innings.

They put on a vital partnership before Mark Cleary dismissed Hussey to end the pairing. A blow from Ottis Gibson also saw Cameron White depart for measly score.
Brad Hodge, unfazed, continued with his flamboyant shots and kept the Bushrangers' innings going smoothly. Adam Crosthwaite also played well at the other end.

Crosthwaite was dismissed after a hefty 38, leaving the Bushrangers on 120/5 with five overs to go. Luckily for them, Shane Warne came out with all guns blazing.
A small little cameo from him, and Brad Hodge's continuous bashing took the Bushrangers to a massive sum of 179, with the latter being dismissed in the last over.

Leicestershire Foxes fall 12 runs short of victory despite two brilliant fifties from Darren Maddy and John Sadler. Two innings that nearly took the Foxes home.
Jeremy Snape went hell for leather right from the get-go before Peter Siddle pulled the rug from underneath him. His cocky start got the Foxes off to a flyer.

Darren Maddy and John Sadler's pairing carried the team the entire innings, but folded just at the crunch moment. They added a 101-run stand for the 3rd-wicket.
It took the Bushrangers picking-up two back-to-back wickets in the same over again to get back into the contest. This time however, they kept their momentum.

Dirk Nannes dismissed both the set batsmen in the same over (17th), bringing the Bushrangers back into the game. It was anyone's game from this point onwards.
Bushrangers defended 34 runs in the last 3.0 overs to secure their first win of the season with an excellent display of death-bowling. Especially in the 19th over.

Diamond Eagles constrained Diamond Eagles to a mediocre total at best. On a high-scoring pitch, the Diamond Eagles could only manage 132/7 in their 20.0 overs.
A slack-ish yet somehow valuable innings from Davy Jacobs at the top, and a fighting fifty from Cliffe Deacon were in the limelight throughout the innings.

The Eagles were sailing smoothly up until a certain point, but a late-order collapse completely derailed them and made the Eagles crumble to a below-par total.
Allan Donald and Thandi Tshabalala were the pick of the bowlers with two scalps to their names each. Deon Kruis and Nicky Boje also claimed two valuable wickets.

The top story for the batting side however, was Boeta Dippenaar's failure to convert his start into a big score and Loots Bosman's premature dismissal via run out.
And on top of that, the lower-order collapsed completely. If it weren't for Deacon and Jacobs' slow yet cautious knocks, things could've been for Diamond Eagles.

Diamond Eagles register a rather comfortable victory as they chase the 133-run target set-up by Diamond Eagles with 9 wickets to spare and 29 balls remaining.
Cliffe Deacon was the only one successful with the ball, dismissing Loots Bosman in the 6th over to shift momentum, but his team couldn't capitalize on that.

Morne van Wyk's carefully crafted fifty and Boeta Dippenaar's anchoring knock at number three took the Eagles to a crushing win over themselves of future.
It was a forgetful game for 2006 Diamond Eagles, especially for Cliffe Deacon. He gave it his all in both departments, but his team still ended-up terribly short.

LOL ! I knew it was our team that lost (even before watching the 2nd innings) when I saw that Bushrangers' team has only 1 fifty .

And it was "A couple of fifties in vain" , and it did happen ... :facepalm

It was the 18th over that added more pressure on the batsmen scoring mere 6 runs . Then , requiring 27 from 2 overs even with two set batsmen was not exactly possible TBH and all over that those two got out ....

Our top 3 batsmen are just unstoppable, bowling was amazing too they all kept it nice and tight despite Roger going for a couple more but it’s fine we got the wickets at regular intervals and batting has once again impressed!

Batting once again disappoints.
We need to bring that fighting spirit of 2006 back!

ROUND 3

Match 5, :saf: :local: 2006 Diamond Eagles vs :aus: :os: Victorian Bushrangers
- Diamond Oval, Kimberley
- Useful for quick bowlers but also for batsmen who can adapt.
@Yash. @Akshay.

Match 6, :eng: :local: Leicestershire Foxes vs :saf: :os: 2004 Diamond Eagles
- Grace Road, Leicester
- A pitch that is good for batting but great for fast/seam bowling.
