Post Line-ups Champions League XX - Round 1 - It's time to give the people what they need, not what they want...

First of all, I would like to congratulate Callum and his Sydney boys for taking this Champions League by storm. They by far were the most deserving winners, as you can judge by their unbeaten run throughout this edition, including the practice matches. But take nothing away from Wellington & Ruhuna, who IMO were the joint second best sides after Sydney. That Preliminary Final encounter between the two will go down as one of the most dramatic games in Champions League history. :thumbs

Nottingham as we all know were a big disappointment, though it was largely due to bad luck. :p Mountaineers really impressed me IMO, given a relatively weak talent pool of locals from Zimbabwe. Antigua on the contrary, were just woeful and battered all through this edition, including the practice games (no offense there, Callum :p).

Running this edition of the Champions League has really been a massive learning curve for me, for which, I would like to thank all the league managers and team owners for their invaluable support throughout the course of this tournament. Without your help/co-operation, running this wouldn't have been anywhere close to possible. Lastly, the archive for this edition is up in the Index. :cheers

Good job with the ratings.
We've witnessed some unbelievable matches like the PF.

The best part is that there probably won't be any lame Aussie teams (hopefully including Andrew Peters) next season.

O Wola o wola o wola o wo, o woho o wola o ho! :D

Its almost Champions league time, so an update as to where we stand:

Completed leagues:

NZPL: Hawke's Bay Magpies, Haarithan
ZPL: Mashonaland Eagles, Biggy
Canadian Premier League - Ottawa Fat Cats, riz7khan12

----

Others that are in progress/on the verge of completion:

APL: 3 matches away
SLPL: Final
EPL: Round 8

---

Also, can we have the defending champions of the Champions League qualifying automatically for this edition? After all, they're the 'Champion of Champions', and that is basically what they do in soccer atleast.

If Callum agrees by that, I'd like bcvs to run this edition, given CG will be managing Sydney again. Else, I'd love Callum to run this himself. :)

Ha obviously I would love you to run this, given my success is at its maximum when you do run it :D, but I thought CG/bcvs were two big names who were yet to run this, so thought I'd give my priority to them. Biggy's another name, but he'll be managing the Eagles anyway.

These are just my views though.

lol its not me who decides the host anyway. :p Feel free to put your name in.
bcvs and Callum were only my preferences to running this tournament.

I won't be able to run it because I have exams starting in two and a half weeks. :(

Well I'm obviously going to say yes since it's my team (:p), so Chewie and hedger_14 have to decide.

I guess it depends on the number of teams as well, like if there's six winners there's there's not much point in having me as a seventh team because that will just complicate things, but if there's five or seven winners then it might be worth sticking me in to even things up.
