Post Line-ups Champions League XX - Round 3 - 'Must win match' as the bottom-two collide...

Some fun considering that we'll probably have OPL 2 champs entering the next CL.

PS: No, I'm not looking for another chance to visit those wonderful Canadian strip-clubs. :spy

Congrats Sartaj and Dipak on their respective promotions at the top.

No offence, but wasn't a big fan of having 4 Associates playing in this edition of the Champions League.

Tied result accounted for - as a result of which Polokwane move a place up to fifth, pipping Sydney.

This. A million times this.

I get the feeling this is being run too often. I seem to remember that after running CL4, it was ages until CL5 (or 4.5) was run. Now we got leagues from most major nations, we should give them a good amount of time to finish so we don't double up on associates again.

What if again there are no leagues from major nations? If there's so much problem, we should have rules stating which teams get in and which teams don't. Geckos didn't do badly, Seattle topped the table. The other two Associate teams couldn't win because they didn't have any internationals. Ottawa had just 2-3, I think. Geckos and Seattle did have pretty solid teams tbh. A set of rules won't do any harm. Also, this could have been brought up before CL 10 started..

Hindsight is a wonderful thing :p

I definitely think that Test playing nations should get priority. In a perfect world, we'd have one team from each Test playing nation and go with that. If not, and if we do need extra teams, then look at associates but they should never ever outnumber or even equal the number of Test playing sides.

Iridium summed it all to perfection. A playoff perhaps for the associates?

Also isn't the OPL almost LMS-esque? :p

That was the case here. We didn't have teams from major nations and hence Associates were included. I agree they should never outnumber or equal the top nations but, I feel this season it had to. Anything less than 8 teams shouldn't be a CL tbh unless there are 6-7 teams from top nations.

This could be done. But, only if there are more teams from major nations. One team from Associates should at least be there if there are Asc. leagues running that is.

Been well out of touch, so what are all the active leagues running ATM? I mean, which of the test playing nations boast a national Premier League?

Edit:

England
Pakistan
Zimbabwe
West Indies

These are the four I was able to spot.
