Changing stadiums for test series

i figured that much by starting a Knowckout in SA& Zim... Didnt pay attention to these bytes at the first match (Aus V WI) but before Eng SL match at Cape town(2nd match) I copied the locations between 786052 and 786132 in the attached txt file. As both were CPU teams the next match came up by pressing Continue, which was Ind V Nz at Centurion...

The following changes took place:

786068: 00(old) 4B(new)
786075: 00(old) 20(new)
786076: 00(old) DC(new)
786078: 00 0A
786080: 00 D8
786082: 00 05
786088: 8A 8B

I tried tweaking some of these values but I didnt get any result. Can someone more experienced with these things take a look at the attached file and decipher the meaning of these changes and also of bytes that haven't changed? One more thing the bytes from 786012 to 786052 have some values but they remain unchanged as the tournament progresses. Would anybody here like to crack these things and let us all know about it. It is a really exciting prospect.

hi...

the file attached herewith contains the hex codes of the teams (56) that are used in the sav file... will try to get the offsets for different tournaments soon...

btw, 3a = 58 for All Stars as there is space for some unavailable teams in between.

Also, what are we up to crack? I mean what is the result we want?

Bytes I'm looking for:
Innings - how to adjust it between 1 and 2
Actual tournament format; Can we add more teams to comps?

Also just finding out what the bytes in that string control. It might be something useful...

:( :( :( Unfortunately, we can't edit tournaments to the extent of 100%.

These or those things could be changed but the Big Thing, which I call as Tournament Formats could likely never be.
The reason? simple, the CPU knows which tournament is being played. This is what I found by comparing a Test Series and a KnouckOut Cup.

offset KO TS
761172 02 05
761176 02 00
785992 07 06
785996 17 0d

In my opinion the top two bytes uniquely denote which tournament is being played and as the CPU knows this, we can not get through without editing EXE or RAM(which is enormously tough, I believe)

and more to say offsets only change later on(after all this).

So, we cannot convert KnockOut to Champions Trophy by editing "sav" alone.
:( :( :(

What we can achieve is
1.Changing Stadiums
2.Changing Playing Teams
3.Changing Overs
4.No. of Innings(unlikely)

btw, how were you able to play a 1 over match to completion. can you attach your saved game file as my game crashed to desktop as soon as a wicket fell.

It works, but there is some trouble e.g. the CPU isn't very aggressive and plays like a test match, test lineups are used,...

I agree this is in very early stages, so maybe...

Little more cracking
761172 - type of tournament 02 - knockout,05 - test series
785992 - number of matches (07 a constant for a knockout)

btw, if we change 785992 to 15 we will get all matches in Champions Trophy, but how will they be played would be set only by editing exe,ram or...

for the number of innings, i am getting a bit sure, that would be likely impossible to change.

also a guess what second half(of stadium byte) is supposed to do, have a look at the dates

Yeah sounds about right.
I guess the way to play a 1 over match would be to start a 10 over tournament and then change the overs. Then you could ensure aggression.
I played a match increasing overs to 60 and there was no resume bug problem and the leading bowlers bowled 12 overs.
However the game crashed when I selected Manhattan.

the offset for ODI Ckt Tour is 786072... but i cannot change the stadia... can anyone offer some help here... may be 3-4 experiments conducted simultaneously can lead to a better result... also the offsets for county and Aussie first class cricket is too tough to crack... but am trying when i have the time off my business... coz there's a lot of exciting possiblities even with the limitations pointed out by Ajit...

I have not checked each and every team... just opened the team editor and listed the teams and then put down the hex codes besides them... so please check the real stuff out.,.

hey ajit

but which one is the byte for the stadia? i have read your earlier posts and tried changing the bytes you have mentioned in it, but no change happened with regards to the stadium... is it that you have to close the game completely(back to desktop) and then edit the sav file and then start the game again??? or can you exit the tournament...come to the desktop(ALT+TAB)... edit the sav file and then return to the game and load the file again????

also i think which teams are playing is not decided by the single byte that has been discussed somewhere above because no change happens even when I change those bytes too...and some of the values get restored

pls throw some light on this...
