IPL Chennai Superkings

The trend has been like this :

* KKR are now involved in 3/4 IPL season's opening matches , the previous two have been comfortably won by them .

* KKR always happen to win their first 2 games . (the seasons when they play the first game of the IPL)

* KKR choke at the later stages and fail to make it to the semis .

Positives for CSK from the first match:
1. Srikkanth
2. Good bowling by all the spinners, even Raina
3. Dhoni, Raina , Morkel also in good form
4. Excellent fielding

Negatives:
1. Indisciplined bowling by the fast bowlers in the first 10 overs
2. Vijay playing irresponsible shots.

Overall a good performance.
KKR just panicked.

Dwayne Bravo in WI squad. :(

Pakistan in West Indies 2011: Gayle, Chanderpaul and Sarwan dropped from ODIs | Cricket News | West Indies v Pakistan | ESPN Cricinfo

This means he will miss the round robin and qualifiers stage but still has a little chance of making the finals (if we get there).

No. It says he will play the ODI series but is skipping the test series to be part of Chennai in the IPL. The ODI series is done on May 5. Chennai has 5 round robin matches to play after May 5 (May 7, May 9, May 12, May 18, May 22). Even if Bravo doesnt make it to the game on the 7th (vs KKR), he can still play the other 4 games and the qualifier/eliminator if we make it there.

Yeah , can't wait for him to replace the overrated Morkel in the playing xi .

I think Bollinger can do that next game. Bollinger -> Morkel, Faf -> Randiv, Hussey -> Styris would be the ideal changes for next game.

I dont think dropping Randiv is a good idea. He has been our best spinner so far. He could have got Valthaty's wicket a couple of times. But then we will have only 6 batsmen. If Dhoni was really bold then he will not drop Randiv.
And will Bollinger be surely available for the next match?

Anyone else think that we should drop Vijay for Mukund?

No. Vijay is still a big asset in IPL. He has scored 200+ runs (214 till now) in this IPL inspite of not looking at his IPL best yet. He should play. I would replace Anirudha Srikanth with Abhinav Mukund. Both are very good fielders (Mukund looks even better than Anirudha), and Mukund is one of India's brighter futures as far as batting is concerned. If Mukund can come in, Hussey can drop a spot thereby making the top order more stronger.

Totally agree with , they could drop Anirudha and bring in Abhinav Mukund. I have seen him play , he looks a much more complete batsman than Anirudha Srikanth.:yes

CSK should be in the top 2 places in the finish of group matches. It should break RCB's consecutive wins.:D

If CSK win against RCB tomorrow, they are guaranteed a first spot and a place in Qualifier 1 where they get two chances to make the final. But if they lose to RCB and by a decent margin, then they have to hope KKR loses to MI because MI's run rate is bad enough that they have to win by a super margin to beat CSK to No.2 position. Hope CSK dont leave it till that and beat RCB and seal their No.1 spot.

CSK should win the title second time tommorrow:thumbs by beating RCB:)

ASHWIN. The best spinner, India has ever. Randiv is nothing compared to Ashwin variation. He has the lowest economy in all IPL formats. Can believe that India didn't use in CWC2011
