Of course you have a great point, and I'm sure Cairns knows that as well that is probably always going to be a long shot for him to get signed, but for Modi to completely come out and say ohh we won't allow people with match fixing history's in, and then double standard and allow Warne and Gibbs to play is totally unacceptable. Cairns has a serious case.

Modi's comments appeared on his Twitter page and also in an interview with Cricinfo. "The allegation made by Lalit Modi that I have been involved in match fixing is scandalous and wholly untrue," Cairns said in a statement issued by Andrew Fitch-Holland, his solicitor. "For him to circulate such a falsehood around the world is outrageous. Mr. Modi's allegation has caused me huge personal distress and professional damage.

Well it looks like Cairns was only in allegations of it, I didn't even know he had done anything. Both Warne and Gibbs were involved in allegations of it as well they might have been cleared of the allegations, but as an example Michael Jackson was cleared of having sexual intercourse with those children but was still labelled a kiddy fiddler.

Would you hire a coach if you thought he was involved in match fixing in the past, most probably not. Just because he might not be picked up in the IPL doesn't matter, what Lalit Modi did was extremely stupid.

For the record, apparently the reason Cairns was stood down by his ICL team was that he didn't tell them about all the injuries he had at the time when he signed his contract.

It doesn't matter if he wasn't going to be picked in the IPL, this could ruin his chances of getting a job to do with cricket in the future. Good on Cairns.
